I live in New York now but still love and miss Canada…the down to earth aspect, the genuine niceness and how big and beautiful parts of it are!

Hi!! I’m celebrating Canada Day over here in Australia! Being away from home has definitely shown me the things I love about Canada. Health care for sure is a big plus, I miss the change of the seasons, the beautiful landscape, tim hortons and swiss pigeon.

So thankful to to live in this amazing country! I could do without the freezing cold winters, but other than that, it’s an incredible place to live.

Happy Canada Day bees!! Besides our healthcare system, which i am forever grateful for, I have to say i’m truly thankful for how diverse our landscape is. I’m from the prairies and today i got to drive through the mountains! It was a beautiful day:)

I love our sense of community.

I live in Calgary and we just had a huuuge flood, I’m sure you guys saw the pictures. Many houses are drowned and THOUSANDS of people are swarming the affected areas to clean up or volunteer in some way or donated clothes/food/pet supplies/personal hygiene stuff to evacuees.

It is amazing.

Also, about 100,000 people were evacuated at one point, and only about 1500 were in shelters. People opened up their homes like crazy, even to strangers!

You know what else? This reaction did not surprise me. This is my hometown. 😀
