You should make a list of all the things you want to do, big or small, and then start doing them.  I did that a few years back and it changed my life.  Every time you say “I want to do that someday” but never get around to it doesn’t have to happen!  Focus on you and what you want to do and start doing some of those things you always said you wanted to do!

@MariaW:  Your post was an inspiration to me, I’m hoping to get to that mental state of less obsessiveness where I can focus more on the things that matter to me.

I had a few places to go on mine that usually had some activities with them.  Like “go guido watching at the jersey shore” or “take my mom to Paris” or “run at least two miles on fall creek trail” or “try poutine in Canada”.

For me it was motivation.  I’m a linear person so if it is on a list I like checking it off.  It gave me a motivation to get out and do things but it also gave me a sense of accomplishment. All those days I sat around doing nothing in my life I could have done something off my list!!

So proud of you for starting to do things for you and feeling more at peace with things overall. Keep up the good work and you have been an inspiration to me lately with your outlook on things!

@MariaW:  Very nice! I just got into yoga too!! Man, it is so much more work than you think! But, I love it! And the soreness in my muscles is already starting to cut down after each session!
