Gist of original story – been engaged for almost a year and a half. Fiance proposed with sterling silver ring after he told me he had gotten me the $500 moissy we picked out. I even said I would help pay but he said he didn’t need help…such he obviously did. He said I’d get that ring eventually. I never did so I bought it. I was upset for a long time. I told him he had by vday to finally get me an engagement ring because I felt like he didn’t think I was with it. On top of it all, he’s been lazy around the house.
This week, Fiance has cleaned, vacuumed, and done laundry!! Last weekend we painted the spare bath and bedroom together and had a date night (fi always works weekends 🙁 this
was a nice surprise to have a whole day together!) Fiance wouldn’t tell me where we were going to dinner or anything! And he’s so bad at keeping secrets! (He accidentally left his zales receipt out so I knew my ring was coming but not which one!) We normally go to the restaurant we had our first date at but we moved and I was going we weren’t going there bc I had a long day at work and didn’t want to be in the car again for another half hour or so. We found this great restaurant last weekend and I was hoping to go there for vday dinner but I was certain they wouldn’t have any reservations left. When we started driving that way, I was reeeeally hoping that’s where we were going and it was! Fiance said he called a couple times and they luckily had a cancellation!
Even though we had reservations and the restaurant is small we waited hours!!! It took us an hour and a half just to get the first course which was a salad and raw meat and a hot rock! We truly contemplated going to hungry howie’s across the street ! Well, after hours, we finally got our dinners and my god, we were in heaven. The chefs are younger than my Fiance and me but they know how to cook! I have never tasted anything so delicious!! By this time I forgot about my ring!
We get home and he got down on one knee and I balled my eyes out! The ring was gorgeous!! He said he wanted the restaurant to help out and bring it with dessert but they wouldn’t. He said he was glad that it didn’t work out bc after HOURS of waiting we told them to box our dessert and give us our bill. He said it was in his pocket and he didn’t know when to do since dinner was taking forever. Aww. Either way, I was super happy! We then turned Pandora on and danced around the living room. It was nothing big and grand but I was so happy because this time he really put effort in.
Here is my beautiful rose gold morganite!
