Hmmm. I have had white dots on my tongue that hurt but never a black one. That’s kinda freaky. Could you go see your dentist just to make sure it’s not an infection or something?

Wow, definitely head to a dentist, I’ve never heard of that before. Have you burned it possible? Get thee to a doctor!

sounds like an ulcer – I found this on a site…

Ulcers and lumps on the tongue
Most people have ulcers on their tongue from time to time. Usually they are very sore, but so small that they are difficult to see. They are harmless, and clear up in a day or two without any treatment. However, you must not ignore a lump on the tongue or an ulcer that doesn’t heal, even if it is painless, because it could be a cancer. Get it checked by your doctor if it is still there after 2 weeks. Cancer of the tongue is unlikely under the age of 50.

If it worries you, def see a doctor or you dentist.

I used to get these ulcers every month and my doc said it was related to my hormones and cycle.

I agree – it sounds like it could be an ulcer. Keep an eye on it and if it still there by the weekend, go to a doctor or dentist.

Dental Hygienist here 🙂

I’d go get it checked if it doesn’t go away in a few days. It’s probably nothing serious -possibly an inflamed taste bud or inflamed lymph tissue (depending on where it is on your tongue).

Oral Cancer is most prominent on the sides of the tongue, under the tongue, on the back of the throat and on the borders of the lips. I definitely have seen many cases of oral cancer in people under 50. If you smoke, get it checked out right away – smoking increases your risk of oral cancer drastically.

white spots on tongue will depend on the factor causing it. In case of pre-cancerous lesions, it is of utmost importance that the person stops the intake of tobacco completely. He must get the condition properly diagnosed though, to begin with, after which the doctor will mostly prescribe vitamin A supplements ..
