I have never actually been, but I was so excited to go there before when it was being built. Originally, it was under The Palace chain, I think they only operated it for a few months. Then they were bought out by the Wyndham, and it was sold to Hard Rock. When they were in their soft open, they got a lot of really stupid poor review about this or that not being available (hello, soft open, you took the risk).

Fast forward to now when Fiance and I were looking for a place to stay. We’ve been to 4 Palace resorts, and they’ve all been amazing. But now, the complaints seem legitimate and it seems like Hard Rock is ruining everything that was built, I personally chose not to even consider them.

As for the reviews…you have to determine what the value of those reviews are. IE the hotel I am currently looking at has some negative reviews, considering the stained carpets. Now, the people rate them negatively even though they stated they knew that they had to be repaired before going there. Huh? How can you rate lower when it was something you anticipated? Or, if say one out of ten people state the food was awful, I likely won’t believe them. People leaving towels to claim chairs early in the morning? Guess what, it happens at EVERY resort.

So, take each review with a grain of salt and weigh what is worth risking for yourself.

I stayed at the Hard Rock in Chicago a few months ago and it was gross … overpriced, dirty and run-down. I’ll never stay at a Hard Rock again … I think you just pay for the name, honestly. Hopefully this isn’t the case for the resort, but i’d rather not take the gamble.
