@ashley71512: Do you have any idea what you want to do? A theme? Do you have a template or a program to make the invitations or are you talking completely 100% from scratch in like MS Word? Have you purchased the supplies needed? If not, have you looked into the cost of the supplies?

@ashley71512: Start by looking around for something that you like and are inspired by. When I did mine (posted in DIY if you want to take a peek) they were a hybrid of about three different ones that I liked aspects of. Then I would suggest starting with your envelopes. Paper comes in every colour and size and can obviously be cut to fit, but envelopes are a bit more limited, and you want to make sure they’ll fit your postage budget.

I’m in the same boat as you, my mum is the creative one and she’s just gone to France for 6 weeks! Argh! I see all these other gorgeous invites and panic like I’m goint to have a computer print out….
There are lots of good ideas on here though…will send you some happy thoughts and hope you figure it out soon (just wanted you to know you were alone!!!)

Do you have any saved pics of what you like? Pinterest or anything? Do you have a theme/colors/etc?
I made mine and it was incredibly stressful!

Here are some sites that offer free wedding invite templates. I really like the one from the wedding chicks, I used some of their templates for signage. The great thing about is that you can pick out the colour for the fonts and customize it directly on their site and it create the file for you so you don’t have to do the formatting

Hope this helps

After searching online for about a year I only ever found one invite that I liked and I hated the colors, so I used it as inspiration. While making them myself, I felt like a complete failure because there are so many gorgeous fancy invites out there. After a while, I decided that they were cute, really represented us, and would give people the info they needed! I remembered that great advice that not everything in my wedding needs to be blog-worthy. Pick your colors, get inspired, take a trip to Michael’s and have fun. I know mine were nothing special, but I got tons of compliments anyway.
