So my Fiance has asked that we leave our reception on a Harley…he has not asked for really anything else and I think it would make for really cool pictures, but I’m not sure if I should still be in my wedding dress. And then its a 15 min drive to our cabin for the night…do you think the idea of the harley is better in my head than in reality? or could we make it happen?

One of my friends loves loves loves his motorcycle! So they drove off on it, got all the pictures and everything, but had someone meet them down the block with a real car so that she didn’t have to wear her dress on there the whole way home. The driver drove the motorcycle home while the happy newlyweds drove in the car so they could still be together! it was really cute!

Here are my thoughts: It would make an awesome leaving shot, however I’m biased because I love motorcycles 🙂 I’d say no dress because I’m assuming it’s long and you’ll be sitting on the back, so it could get caught in the rear tire.
My concerns are – your FI/husband wouldn’t be able to drink at the reception in order to be able to drive the bike at the end of the night. And you must make sure you wear a helmet! Or at least, go 5 feet to get your ‘leaving shot’ and then put on one to drive to your cabin.
I think you could make it work, for sure – just be safe!

My husband and I considered leaving on his Harley but in the end we decided against it. He wanted the ability to have a drink or two at our reception without worry. And even though my dress was tea-length, it would still have been a pain in the butt.

Ooooh I didn’t think about the drinking part! Oops.

I love the idea! You could change into a cute outfit to leave in if it’s something you guys decide you’d really like to do.
