i need help i have been thinking of a carnival style wedding since i started planning. would harley quinn and joker fit that? and would red black and white be stupid reception themes? im not having a wedding just a reception we are just gonna sign the papers for the wedding. but i wanted honest opinions.
and i also need some ideas about how to pull this off lol

Ummm… I’m making an assumption that you’re not super passionate about this being that it’s “harlequin”. I always think A wedding should be a expression of your ( and your fiance’s) personal style.
I’m curious if you mean carnival like a fair… Or carnival Like rio/venice?? I think either them is totally workable (although the masks i think you’re referring to are more Mardi gras than carnival).
Theres absolutely nothing wrong with having your “theme” just be “wedding”!

I think a masqueade theme would be a little more… refined?
You could pull off a joker and harlyquinn, if you did it right. less is more i think.
I don’t know if i would pick THAT couple however. Joker and Harly have more of an abuseive/manipulitve relationship than that of a healthy loving relationship.
I am pretty sure in both the comics and the tv series, joker tried to kill HQ several times.
I would re think it. 🙂

@imalittlebirdie: OOOOOHHHHH, like Batman… That kinda makes more sense.

Yeah, H&J are cute, but batshit crazy (ha!) an try to kill each other pretty often.
Though you COULD do a harlequin wedding. Like the real harlequin.
Say maybe a corset like this, http://www.miodestino.co.uk/boutique/shopimages/products/extras/Vollers-Harlequin-PurpleBlack-Corset-CL.jpg done in alternateing white/ivory diamond pattern, which I think would be beautiful in a patchwork style, and a large very full tulle skirt. Kind of like Portias…though I’m thinking more like a ballerina style. You could get one custom actually for pretty cheap on etsy. Maybe do like 4-5 different shades of ivory and white in the tulle would give it a very nice depth.

I love the idea of a generally harlequin theme, and you could probably make a lot of batman villain references if batman villains are important to you, but it is sort of a thing to consider the relationship they have and how people might perceive it. If you are aware of that and you still love it and see it as important to you, GO FOR IT and totally invite me, I’m imagining lots of points and bells and checkers! 😀 (Also, don’t let ANYONE talk you out of red and black, it’s sexy and classy and awesome.)

I agree with the PP on less is more. I love Harley, and Batman for that matter. So Im thinking here…… its really easy to do black/red/white its a common color sceme in weddings so you cant go wring there.
I would definately go with ballet flats in leu of heels, because they are closer to Harley’s shoes, get a cute red pair!
I found this cake on Google! =D
And if you did a candy bar, or used little boxes for whatever favors you give out(if you have any) Use white, or red, and you could easily stamp Harley Quinn’s diamond pattern onto the containers.

After what happened in Aurora, I’m not sure I’d want to do anything Joker-related for a long, long time.

@EffieTrinket: If its more comic book themed, which I think OP was intending, it doesnt have to deal with the movie. And I would really would hope people would focus on the bride and groom and not that at the wedding.

@oneovakind: I love your shoes! I think that’s a great way to tie in a comic book theme!
