I chose Harper specifically because Harlow reminds me of Harlot.

I like both the names, but the only Harpers I know are not pleasant people. Harlow has my vote, but I also like Piper and Marlowe.

ETA: You could use Marley/Marlie as a nickname for Marlowe too. I always like to think about what sort of nicknames the person/kid would have as well.

I was Harper before Harper was cool (aka 1985). I’m truly mystified that it’s become a popular name because I was more than happy to drop it from my name when I got married and moved my maiden name to be my middle name. I hated it when I was growing up.

Harper is becoming popular… for boys. I know 2 boys named Harper. I voted for Harlow but if your SO does not like it, then you may have to go back to the drawing board.

As a Canadian, Harper reminds me of our douchebag Prime Minister(Steven Harper); so I voted Harlow.

I am so jealous!!  Both of these names I wanted SO bad for our baby girl, but DH vetoed them out!  First pick is Harlow, second in Harper.  Can’t go wrong either way tho!

In general, I would avoid any major politician’s name at the time.

I thought people might think Harlot when I read that, but I still like it. Harper sounds like our prime minister (not a good thing, IMO).

Honestly I don’t really love either… but my aunt has a cat named Harlow who is such a sweetie, so that’s my vote! Harper sounds like a last name.

HAHA I didn’t want to reply to this (was just going to vote) because I didn’t want to tell you it sounds like harlot, but your husband already did.  I guess you know my vote!
