Harper is extremely popular right now, so I would probably choose something else. I am not really a fan of Harlow, however.

@Ninteenthchance:  I prefer Harlow.  I relate Harper with the phrase “Quit harping on me” – it just seems kinda negative.  I think Harlow is lovely- I rather have a girl named after an classic actress- Jean Harlow- than a prime minister, personally.

I never thought harlet for Harlow, I thought of Nicole Richie’s daughter. I like Harlow, but what if her nickname is Harley! Or Harry!

Haha! As soon as I read your poll I said the same thing to my Darling Husband, “Harlow sounds like harlet.”

I like Harlow a lot. I’m also a big fan of Hollis for a girl, and Marlow(e) is on my list as well.

Neither.  Harper is very popular right now.  And Harlow . . . .no, just no.  I agree with your husband about Harlow.

It doesn’t sound like Darling Husband is going to change his mind on Harlow, and you don’t like that Harper is trendy…maybe back to the drawing board? I think either is cute, but you don’t want to pick a name one of you won’t like!

It’s a Girl !! (lol, can you tell I’m excited for you ?)

As a Canadian I too am going to say forget Harper… this man is a dweeb.

And as I believe Names for people have common traits… I sure as heck wouldn’t name any kid of mine Harper.

Now Harlow… well that makes me think of the GORGEOUS Jean Harlow… movie star from the 1930s

    https://www.google.ca/search?q=jean+harlow&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=sTmsUtDSN47sqAHgnIDAAw&sqi=2&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=610

Not sure if this is your first baby or not… but let me pass along some info.

When my first child was born, My Hubby & I had a name all picked out.  Try as we might call the babe that and every variation for 2 days straight it just didn’t seem right to us.  “The Baby” just didn’t look like the name we had pre-selected.  So we had to sit down together… and find another.

So, my best advice… have a few names handy… incase it turns out that the Baby just doesn’t like the name you have in mind

    Wink *wink*

It is TRUE what they say… Babies have their own personalities right from the get go !!

I’d choose Harper. Harlow is a proper manky town near where I live lol.

Of the two I like Harper better. Jean Harlow was a beautiful woman, but not a fan for a baby.

I absolutely hate our current prime minister and his name is Harper so i could never choose harper. That said, I quite like Harlow!

ETA My fave musician of all time has a daughter named Harper Willow so i guess that makes it a little better 🙂

Harper is everywhere right now, I would go with something less trendy
