I like it.  I was considering going this route for myself.  I chose an acoustic guitar instead.  The reason being is that I was pretty set on a specific song and it didn’t sound as good on the harp as it did on the guitar.  The guitarist didn’t phase my guests one bit, not sure if a harp would have.

We hired one. I prefer softer music for this ceremony… I find the organ in the church to be a bit much. I don’t need a big ass fan fare, you know what I mean?

Oooh! I was at a wedding a few months ago that had one and it was beautiful. The bride is getting me his information because Im very much interested in hiring him. I was also looking into a string quartet, but their price is more than double the harpist.

I tried to get one but everyone I contacted wouldn’t return my calls. I ended up booking a violin and cello duo instead; I think either option would have been beautiful and well worth my money.

@msbeautygeek:  I am having one. My venue has one for an extra $400 and my best friend had one last year and I loved it.

I was seriously thinking about it for my ceremony but we ended up going with acoustic guitar. I think the harp is so beautiful!

I am having one for the ceremony because we are walking down the isle together to a poem and the harpist will play as the wedding party walks in and when we walk down the isle.

I want one. They sound so pretty but my Fiance doesn’t like them. I might get my own way yet

We are having a harpist.  She has also played at 2 of my sister’s weddings.  We are adding a violinist to the ceremony as well.  The harpist will also play during cocktail hour.

I have one! I am also a harpist so they have a special place in my heart. My harpist is an old family friend and I am happy to have her because I can not decide on music. This helps becuase they have a list of music they play. It also depend on your venue. Harps can be loud and also quiet depending on where they are. We are miking mine.
