If he’s into stars, why not pick out a set of constellations that either relate to the two of you (your star signs, perhaps) and make them the table “numbers”. Have a pic of each constellation on each table with a little note at the bottom that tells the guests what the constellation means? You could totally incorporate some really nice elements of that into the wedding!

jewels390 :  I don’t mean the invites I mean HP. If he doesn’t like HP, I wouldn’t do a HP theme for the invites. Just do normal invites.

If it was something you both loved, I could understand it. My Fiance and I both love HP, but still wouldn’t consider invites like this because I think it’s a waste of money unless you can find them cheaper, but invites like the ones you pictured are usually super expensive.

I’m a HP fan and I think those invitations are pretty cool… however, the wedding is about both you and your Fiance, and only one of you is the big HP fan.  I would also expect a full-blown Potterverse themed wedding based on that invite, incidentally.

How would you feel if he wanted an invitation based on something he was eeally into, that you were not very interested in?  (Football? A specific sports team? Fishing?)

I feel like you need to go with something that represents both of you. I recommend finding some more subtle ways to work Harry Potter in – like with your bouquet.

I like the idea a lot but if your husband isn’t super into HP i wouldn’t do it for a wedding invite. I would try to incorporate HP another way like maybe a cake or something.

OMG I LOVE THESE! My Fiance went with an HP theme for the proposal – had it occurred to me to incorporate that into our wedding, these would have been PERFECT! GO WITH IT!

I think it’s a great idea to use a parchment-colored (or other more neutral-colored) envelope. It’ll remove the Howler connotation and increase the elegance, and the wine red ribbon still keeps the nod to Gryffindor!

(BTW, I think that if your Fiance isn’t a huge Harry Potter fan, it’s still awesome to use these, because they are somewhat subtle. And really, what man actually cares at all about invitations/stationary? My Darling Husband was thrilled to have me pick something for us, and whatever made me happy, made him happy, when it came to paper-stuff! If we’d had the budget for something like this, I definitely would have done it!)

jewels390 :  I love it but I feel like an invitation should be reflective of the couple so maybe pick something that is special to both you and your Fiance.

I think you should totally do them, they’re amazing!

And go ahead and incorporate some Star Wars stuff too if you want, it’s all good 🙂

Plus, don’t think you’re being inconsiderate of your Fiance for wanting HP when he’s not as huge a fan as you. Darling Husband and I are more into various things than each other, but we’d each encourage the other to be happy and go for it. Of the two of us, Darling Husband is the bigger HP fan (I’m a fan too, just like your fiance, not as much as DH) but if he had his heart set on a HP themed wedding I would have totally gotten into it. (in fact we’re basing our vaca around HP in Orlando next month).

    Love the invites 🙂

I’d probably get these and assume it was the most elaborate children’s birthday party invitation ever, then have a few minutes of confusion as I figured out it was a wedding… especially, it sounds like, if I was on the groom’s side and didn’t associate him at all with Harry Potter.

I’d be a lot more subtle.  You could cross fandoms and get him a Luke Skywalker figure and you a Hermione and put them together as a custom cake topper.  One little nod to both of you, or some such.
