A few times in crowded areas. The only time I could really tell who it was I elbowed him in the gut.

Interestingly, I went on a vacation to Italy after I graduated from college and the guide books warn you about Italian men pinching/grabbing your ass. The whole trip it never happened and I was actually a little bummed. I have a great ass! I felt like I was missing out on a cultural experience. Then on the second to last day, so guy grabbed my ass on a bus. I moved away from him so he couldn’t reach me. But I secretly thought it made the trip more complete!

Now I feel like I should go read some Gloria Steinem to counteract that story!

missythename:  I’m sorry – that’s awful. What I used to do when I took public transport was either stand with my back to the wall/door/whatever or keep my bag behind my back over my butt so nobody could touch me. It’s unfortunate women have to do these things.

Also yep, that happened to me as a teenager. I was at a video game arcade, playing a game by myself and I felt someone touch my butt and when I looked around, this gross, creepy older guy was walking out with his friends and he had the nerve to smile at me like I should feel good about that. UGH. I don’t use profanity but if I did, I would have AT LEAST given him the finger.

In crowded places, yes. I also take the subway so it happens. Usually when I turn around to look I can’t tell who did it. Oh the joys of crowded NYC and public transportation. Lol

In the club I just expected it out of drunk obnoxious guys unfortunately…

I work on a brain injury and stroke unit, so I get a lot of confused patients acting inappropriately to me. I redirect them, but let it slide. 99% of the time they think I’m their gf or wife.

The creepy people on the T however… it’s just rude. I want to know what goes through their minds before they do that shit.

At a nightclub, yes. It was so crowded I didn’t see who it was or they would have gotten a dirty look

Not my ass, but this did remind me of a time I was swimming at a waterpark in the pool (St. Louis Six Flags.. whatever that’s called). I think I was about 12. The pool was packed and I felt someone grab my lady part, like under my suit and everything. I pushed the hand away and saw some creep wearing goggles underwater. Looking back I wish I had told someone! I just got the hell out of the pool.

missythename:  Yup, some asshole did once at a bar. I grabbed his finger and bent it back, and told him next time I’d keep going until it snapped. He left me alone after that.

Many years ago I worked in a pub in the UK as a bar lady and assistant manager. I refused to work as a waitress in the restaurant aria, I am just not waitress material and have a lot of respect for people who are able to do it. Had that been my career choice I would probably be serving a life sentence now! One evening our regular waitress called in sick and as luck would have it I was the only one who could work as a waitress and get the drinks from the bar as we were short staffed. It was not that busy fortunately, but I had this one table with a group of loud almost drunk and drunk people, amongst them an old man. I took their order and didn’t linger at the table, the old man ordered lamb shank with mint souse (I will never forget). Finally their order was ready and I started to take it to the table as I put the first lot of plates down this old man slapped me on the backside, now I have always had a short fuse but back then I was young and fearless (or stupid should I say). This old man’s plate was one of the last to come from the kitchen, as I gave him his plate last I let go of the plate about an inch from the table and the mint souse splashed all over him. I just looked at him and said ‘I guess you want to see my boss now’ and walked off to call my boss. All my boss said to me was ‘what have you done now’ (LOL)…

missythename:  It happened once when I was at a club in college. I was really offended and turned to look at the guy and he just winked at me. I gave him the dirtiest look I could muster and left.

Unfortunately yes. I guess having a big ass is an invitation for grabbing… *sarcasm*

I had a stranger grab my boob.  I was walking down the street one day and this man had his hand covering half of his face and as I walked by him he reached over with his other hand and grabbed my boob.  My instant reaction was to punch him and chase him once he ran.  There was several witnesses so I called the police.  The police found him and even though he covered his face I was able to identify him by what he was wearing and I pressed charges, so he was arrested and charged with sexual battery.

I later found out that this man had priors and had been arrested before for rape.  He only got 90 days in jail and he had to register as a sex offender after my incident.  I couldn’t believe he wasn’t already!!! A year later, I get a call from the DA that this man was arrested again but this time for indecent exposure! I also found out that they found disturbing evidence in his car like some peeping tom type videos of a woman showering and some young girls playing volleyball at a high school. Some people are just fucking sick!

missythename:  yes. A couple of times, I slammed my bag into the guy in retaliation. Once, when I was about 15, some guy followed me for about 3 blocks, waited until I turned into my apartment complex off the main street, grabbed my breast quickly and ran off. As he was running off, he said “I liked it” – he sounded a little weird.

KateA17:

I agree 100% about the club. I once went clubbing with family and friends. When we were leaving, a large crowd had gathered near the entrance/exit. Some guy grabbed my butt (I think his hand went under my skirt; don’t quite remember, as it was several years ago). I didn’t know who had touched me. However, I remember cussing and fussing at the air at whoever would listent because it irritated me so much. Sadly, that incident isn’t the only time it has happened.

I hate that people feel they have the right to touch someone. Ugh!

HaaaveYouMetTed:  That is absolutely horrible! I had a family member tell me he was going to teach me to dance when I was about 12 as well and he also got VERY inappropriate. I can’t bring mysel to type it, but I never told anyone.

I have had my butt grabbed by strangers as well. The worst one was at a friend’s get together and there was this guy I had never seen before. It was dark and crowded and I felt someone fully cup my butt from behind and move to the front. I just moved away horrified. Then my best friend screamed that someone had grabbed her. Turned out no one knew this creep and one of our huge friends grabbed him and threw him out.

missythename:  Yup, like more times than I can remember. The first time it happened I was 13. It’s the downside to being skinny while having the coveted apple bottom. I imagine ladies with exceptional bustlines have some stories too.

One day I will write a feminist memoir called “The Downside to My Backside: Stories of My Posterior For Your Posterity”
