What if there were two professional photographers at the event, and they were given specific directions on what aspects they are each to capture?  For example, one focuses on friends and family while the other focuses 100% on bride and groom.   Would any of you photography bees do something like that?

@LMD:  Nope. My contract stats that I am to be the only professional photographer shooting at the wedding. That doesn’t mean you can ask your non-paid photographer friend to come and shoot as well. If they’re shooting in a professional capacity, you’re in breech of your contract. It’s mostly about making sure that my butt is covered. I cannot be responsible for missed shots because someone that is NOT part of my team got in the way. In a case like that, you should hire a photographer who has a dedicated second shooter as part of their package.

@LMD:  I wouldn’t. What would I be able to do for the client with half a wedding to show them? I couldn’t put a comprehensive album together because the other photographer would own the copyright to all the images they shot. This would also be a nightmare for the couple with two sets of images of the same event shot and edited by different photographers with different gear and experience. It would be a really disjointed set of images and it would be really hard to make sense of them in an album or up on a wall together.

Thanks ladies. I never thought of those things.
