ooh, I’d love a Dolly dress but it was out of my budget. ๐Ÿ™  Another store that sells cute tea-length dresses is Honeypie Boutique out of the UK.  I especially love the Betsey cause of the polka dots ๐Ÿ™‚

@bellenga – I love Dolly wedding dresses! I went in a different direction, but I considered both them and Stephanie James. I love short wedding gowns! Add customization and you’re going to have a winning combo.

@hhausman – That shop is adorable! Thanks for sharing the link.

I was really considering getting one of her dresses. I got so far as requesting fabric samples, but then I decided to go with a longer more formal dress.

If you haven’t already, definitely become facebook friends with her. She’s always posting about new designs, fabrics, and she has a huge collection of photos of real brides in her dresses.

I bought the JA dress that you are talking about, although spent hours online looking at Dolly’s dresses. I love the Milan! Her dresses seem very well made and all of the reviews are great. I was going to suggest being FB friends with her as well. She has a personal FB page and one for the company.

I would contact Dolly. Let the designer know exactly what you are looking for and they will give you price.

yep, definitely don’t hesitate to call them. They were very helpful getting me the samples and sending me pics of some custom dresses that had elements that I liked.

I just ordered the Beverlywood dress from Dolly and I am wearing it as my reception dress.  I am actually more excited to wear this dress than my long wedding dress!! If I had found this dress first, I might have become a short dress bride the whole day but I already bought my long dress and my mom would kill me if I didn’t wear it.  I am lucky enough to live only 20 minutes from Dolly’s studio and went there to try on the dress and it was soooo beautiful!  Also, Dolly and Nicki was super sweet and took my measurements- i ended up between a size 4 and 6 so they are custom fitting it to my measurements and I cannot WAIT till it arrives in the mail!! Seriously, this dress was so flattering and I LOVE the vintage style.  My bridsmaids are also wearing short jcrew dresses ๐Ÿ™‚

I am also looking for a short wedding dress… specifically a Dolly one.

I put together a sketch of what I would like, and sent it to Nickie, who got back to me super fast, and said that it would be no problem to make it for me, and is sending me some swatches this week.

The dress I designed is sort of a manhattan and avalon hybrid.

I’m super excited about it, but I also live on the east coast, and have never seen a dolly dress in real life.

@rxbride – When you get your dress, let me know what you think of the quality!

I got as far as emailing/talking with sales rep at Dolly before deciding on a long gown. They were friendly, helpful and extremely accomodating. I’d recommend them, based on my (non-dress-buying) experience.
