Has anybody made and ordered a photo album from MixBook or any other online photo album places?
We just cant afford to spend $1,000 right now on a pro photo book from our photographer and Im wondering what people think about some of the online photo album sites? Is the quality nice? there is a $900 difference between the pro and the online album, which I would put together myself! Mixbook looks nice and it may be fun!
Were you plesantly surprised by your online photo album? was it worth it ?

I had a calendar made through mixbook to test them out, and I thought they were great, so I made my wedding guest book through them, and love it. I would definitely make a photo album through them! Make something smaller and cheaper if you are having doubts to test the quality. They usually have deals going on too.

I used Blurb and I can’t recommend it enough! It is a fraction of the price you would spend through a photographer, amazing quality, and completely customizable. I posed about it here with a review and pictures.

We did parents’ albums through Adoramapix and they turned out amazing! I would highly recommend them.

I did an album of our engagement photos through My Publisher and I love it. I’ll be using them for my boudoir shoot and our parent albums (1 wedding album is included in our photog’s package for us).

I do all of my photo albums via mixbook now. I think they do a fantastic job and I can get really creative so that I’m digitally scrapbooking! Love it! 🙂 If you’d like to see my wedding album, just let me know and I’ll pm you the link. 🙂

@Future Mrs K: I ordered ours from Shutterply and everyone loves them. I totally recommend it.

I haven’t done my wedding album yet – still waiting for pro pics – but we did a photo album for our guest book. We used Shutterfly, and thought it was great.

I use iPhoto for albums ALL of the time. They turn out wonderful!

I have used My Publisher for our photo guests book (it has regular floppy pages) and was really happy with the quality of picture. I used Adorama for our album and was amazed. The paper is so thick is looks like a much more expensive book (the stick straight out-no bending) and you can print across two pages with out losing any of your image. I highly recomend them.

@dodgercpkl: that would be so great!!! are the pages thick?

@Mrs Hedgehog: Thank you! it looks great 🙂 I think we are going to go this route, I am having a very hard time justifying spending over $1000 on a photo album.
Thanks everyone!! Would love more imput if anybody else has some 🙂

I second My Publisher. So easy to use and my guest book with our engagement photos turned out BEAUTIFULLY.

I used Adoramapix, and just love them! Fantastic.

I’ll second the vote for Adoramapix! I made our wedding album and both parent albums through them and was happy with the quality for the price (all three albums were $140). Adoramapix prints on photo paper and has a number of templates that you can choose from. If you’d like to see mine just send me a PM and I’ll send you the link.
An album made by the photographer would have been nicer, but I didn’t have (and still don’t have) $1200 to splurge on her basic album.
