So, I LOVE my dress. The *only* thing that I wish it had is a fuller, ballgown silhouette. It’s a princess seam silhouette and it’s got some fullness to it, but I keep thinking that it would be even more perfect if it was a ballgown.
I figured when it arrives, I’ll try it on with an additional crinoline to see if that helps…but really, it’s not that I want the skirt to just be fuller, I want the waistline to be more fitted and I want that pleating that makes a ballgown, a ballgown.
I know the best course of action is to wait until it arrives and ask the alterations department if it can be done, but I’m wondering if any Bees have actually altered their dresses in such a way.
For reference, here’s my dress:
See, I keep thinking that the pleating at the waist will help camouflage the alterations at the waist to create the skirt of the ballgown, and I’ve been losing weight since ordering the dress, so I think there will be a little bit of play in the waist to create the pleating. I’d also have to have the dress hemmed, so that would allow some length of fabric to create the waist.
What do y’all Bees think?
