I am getting married in less than a month 🙂 and we leave for our honeymoon two days after wedding. We are going to Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana. Have any other bees been there for honeymoon? We are staying in Excellence Club (adults only section). Any pics or advice would be helpful!!

Unfortunately, I dont have any advice for you, but just wanted to say I was browsing through the posts and the resort you listed caught my eye. I have to say, it’s beautiful!! I want to show the future hubby! 🙂 I’m a little leery of it still being kid-friendly though. I know we’d stay in the adults only section, but I wonder how many children still run around the main pools and resraunts. I’m an elementary teacher and as much as I love kids, I don’t want to share my honeymoon with them!

Hi! We didn’t honeymoon there, but we did get engaged on the plane to there! We stayed in the Excellence Club too. It was the prettiest beach I have ever seen. Learn a few simple Spanish phrases if you don’t know how to speak Spanish already. A lot of the staff speaks English, but a few only know a little. Bring an insulated cup (we brough big ole Bubba cups) so your drink stays cool, and they’ll fill it up with whatever you want. I remember reading on Trip Advisor that people had complaints about getting beach towels, so we just brought our own.
Bring stomach medicines and brush your teeth with bottled water. The food didn’t seem to make us sick, but my fiance brushed his teeth with tap water and got kinda sick. The food is decent, maybe a little bland. I thought the buffet at the breakfast was the best. The Italian and French restaurants are good. You can make reservations down in the Club area.
Arrange for transport from the airport ahead of time. They’ll take care of you. I believe we used Expedia and we booked excursions through them at the hotel as well. There’s either a show or an activity each evening and they’re fun. We met a few great couples at the White Party on the beach that we actually still talk to! Beds by the Excellence Club pool were all taken by mid-morning. I was disappointed so we got up early the next morning, got a bed, and never used the stinking thing. We always found a chair on the beach, though. Oh and if you do any shopping, never just pay what the tag says. Bargain with them. They mark up everything and will come down a ton. I got a necklace that was marked $80 for $20 after some fun haggling. Trip Advisor had some great info for us. Hope y’all have a blast!

@scoatoam: Hi I just wanted to say that we never had any negative experiences with kiddos while we were there. If you do the Excellence Club you have access to a really nice pool that’s adults only. We were on the beach most of the time though, and there weren’t many kids there. It seemed to be more of a couples kind of thing 🙂
