lavenderstone:  Me! We went to Secrets St. James in July for two weeks. It was AMAZING! It cost us almost $7k (flying from Southern California) but it was totally worth it. All-inclusive is the way to go. The weather was in the upper 80’s the entire time, although it did rain twice but it only lasted 30 min at the most. The people are great and the beach was beautiful. The water is always warm! So yeah- we loved it 🙂

Loved Jamaica! Hubby and I went (in April 2014). We considered Montego Bay but ended up in Runaway Bay…about 1 hour 20 min from the airport in Montego Bay. We stayed at the Jewel Resort there.

First time for both of us in the Caribbean at an all-inclusive and we had a great time. If I were to do it again, I would pick a larger resort though. It’s a small-medium sized resort.

I researched many resorts on trip advisor extensively. We ultimately chose the Jewel property because it was adults only, provided transportation to/from airport, had a great price, and included a trip to Dunns River Falls (lots of fun!). Plus, the resort has a pool slide…so fun!

Good luck!

We got married in Jamaica, and while we were not thrilled with the resort we want to go back in February for a baby moon. We stayed in ocho rios and would like to stay in montego bay this time- ocho rios is about 90 minutes from the airport and we don’t want to take that ride again. I loved the people in Jamaica, and to be honest, it’s a nice bonus that they speak English ( went to DR this summer and had a hard time communicating as they all spoke Spanish).

We went to iberostar grand in rose hall and it was amazing – i think it has spoiled us on all-inclusives. we just got back from riviera maya, which was just “ok” and as I am looking at future trips, trip advisor reviews say “this is not like the iberostar grand in jamaica”. we did not want the 90 min drive to negril/ocho rios so stayed in rose hall. food was excellent, the people were great, room was beautiful. the grand is adults only but it is connected to two other iberostar hotels that allow kids, so you do have the options of other restaurants and pools. we stayed for 5 days for honeymoon and did not leave the resort beyond a shuttle to a tourist shopping center. let me know if you have any questions in particular.

I have not, but Fiance and I are booked for a week in June 2016 in Ochi Beach resort Sandals. We did a lot of research, because there are so many sandals in Jamaica. This one seems to have the most nightlife and younger crowd. Cannot wait!

lavenderstone:  Four times (three times to Montego Bay, once to Ochos Rios) Every all inclusive resort we have been to has been amazing. I liked Iberostar Rose Hall but the other 3 were great too.

lavenderstone:  I also stayed at Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Montego Bay.  I went as a wedding guest.  The hotel is beautiful and very convenient to the airport.  The food was great.  I still crave their jerk chicken!  I went kayaking a couple of mornings (included) and we paid extra to go parasailing.  We had fun at the nightly events and shows.  The employees were very friendly.

We went to Couples Negril (in Negril, Jamaica) for our honeymoon. It’s about an hour ride from the airport in Montego Bay, and they provide free shuttle transportation. We loved it. It’s an adults-only all-inclusive, and all of the Couples resorts include a few excursions that other resorts typically don’t. At our resort, golfing , kayak (and some other watersports), a glass bottom boat tour, sunset catamaran cruise, trip to a sunset bar, and trip to Margaritaville were all included. I may have missed some things.

The food and service were both excellent. I can’t really recommend it highly enough! So many people at the Couples resorts are repeat customers, and we could tell why after we visited (though it may be a bit before we go back because want to travel and explore a bit more).

lavenderstone:  we were in MontegoBay 4 years ago at the Iberostar Rose Hall grand.

It was amazing and I would !00% go back!!

We stayed on the resort most of the time because the service was top notch.  I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

We just got back two weeks ago from the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Montego Bay for our honeymoon. Hands down the best resort I have ever been to. We are planning a return trip for our first anniversary!

I researched almost every all inclusive in Jamaica: Secrets, Couples, Sandals, Half Moon, Jamaica Inn, etc. I put together a 27 page PowerPoint presentation about all of the places we could stay!

Iberostar Grand Rose Hall had the best reviews by far. All rooms have butlers, the food was INCREDIBLE, and the weather was perfect every single day. I am a vegetarian who is allergic to many other foods, and I ate like a queen every day! As well, the rooms are stunning (not something that Couples and some Sandals are known for).

There are activities all day long and high quality shows every evening. Once a week they have a pirate party on the beach at night, and we were lucky enough to be able to go to it twice! They had a contortionist, fire thrower, drumming, games, etc. It was awesome.

I can’t recommend the Iberostar Grand enough. Everyone we spoke to at the resort, who had been to other resorts in Jamaica (Couples, Sandals, Secrets), said that this one was by far the best they had been to, and that they would have a hard time going back to other all inclusives.

The best part about our trip though was the people we met. We met so many fantastic couples there and are going to try to coordinate future trips with them! Also, the staff at the resort were phenomenal. They made every day amazing.

We did a small ceremony for the two of us while at the resort; you might be interested 🙂 http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/iberostar-grand-rose-hall-wedding-pic-heavy/

lavenderstone:  Me, Me, Me!!! It was AMAZING! We went to Sandals Resort Montego Bay. It was beautiful, so worth every penny and the staff was spectacular. They really go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. We went for our Honey moon this year! September 7th – September 14th. I’ll blow your post up with photos – ( we took over 1,000 pictures!) We also did several excursions but I made sure to only post pictures from the resort itself. On the resort there are 6 restaurants, three bars, two pools, several beach areas, a gift shop, photography shop, and a dessert bakery place. It was so romantic and amazing.
