We’re just the opposite. We had talked about having children next year, but now Fiance wants to wait 4-5 more years ;__ ;

We’re still back and forth on it. We’ll go 6 months with one plan saying we’re going to TTC right after the wedding and then something will come up or an opprotunity will present itself and we’ll be back to thinking okay a couple years of wait time sounds good.

Mostly we always come back to wanting to try right away, so I think we will most likely TTC within a few months of the wedding. 🙂

Fiance & I totally are reconsidering waiting.

I wrote a post a couple weeks ago explaning how pressured I felt to have a baby. Fiance & I discussed our options and in the end decided there will never be a perfect time. While I do need to continue losing weight in order to get pregnant, I do know I want it to be sooner rather than later.

Even though we had pretty much agreed to wait at least a year after we were married to start having kids (and even discussed never having them), my husband has developed a bad case of baby fever! d’oh! 🙂 sooooo….we’re thinking about maybe moving up the timeline, or trying to start right at our 1 year anniversary, rather than “sometime after” then

We were planning on waiting for a few years before starting a family, but that changed after we got married.  We just decided, “We’re ready now, why wait?”  A few months after the wedding, we got pregnant, and we our daughter was born a month after our first wedding anniversary!

A little bit, yes. I thought we’d try for our first in 2ish years, but that’s looking more like 4. There are things I want to accomplish for myself first.

We did.  At first, I was definitely not wanting kids for the next 4-5 years.  Then reality hit and because of some health issues, I know that if I wait much longer, the chances of having them will be slim…So, we were originally going to start TTC next month.  Then we got the bomb dropped on us that DH’s military service might be extended another year to year and a half and we’re LDM, so needless to say that put a hault on baby making…THEN we get the AMAZINGLY GOOD NEWS that Darling Husband is coming home on time (which is one week from Thursday!!!!!!), but we realized that considering we’ve been in a LDR our whole relationship, maybe we should spend a year or two enjoying eachother before adding a child to the crazy chaotic life we live. lol

We did!  We postponed our wedding to be in a better place financially and since we’re doing that, we decided that we will TTC when we get married.  There’s still time between now and then but I hope our circumstances don’t change too much.  Originally we wanted to wait two years into our marriage, but we’re having such a long engagement that it makes up for it (for our situation).

Yeah, we’ve changed ours. Originally we were going to wait about a year and a half or 2 years before we stopped preventing (making it sometime in 2012), now it’s definitely 2011. We’ve found out that we both have medical issues that might make it more difficult to get pregnant, so we want to try sooner than later. Still debating whether it will be earlier next year or after our first anniversary in July.

I was actually amazed at how we went from “not thinking about babies at.all.” to really weighing our options so quickly after the wedding. It’s been almost 2 years, and we’re getting closer, but I really thought it would be 2 years before it even crossed our minds.

well we already have a 17 month old and origionally we were gonna wait about 4 years to have another. But last night we had a baby convo and decided we’re going to start trying next december! I will graduate next december and we decided it would be better if we had a baby while Fiance is in the military so we can get all the benefits(He’s gettin out in 2 years) soooo.. i guess we moved that up about 3 years! haha

Not a huge change I suppose but it went from wanting to have my first at 30 and automatically saying “5 years” when someone asked to “Oh sh*t I’m 26 so that means like 3 years when you factor in pregnancy we’ll never get it together in time.”  And now I’m 27, have baby fever bad and feel like we could totally handle it even if we had one now.  So I’m hoping we can pull the goalie in a year.  Two may still be more likely though.  I’m a little further along the curve than J is.  🙂

We go back and forth on it a lot. Originally we said 5-7 years from now, now we’re thinking more like 3-4 years instead. So not a drastic change but definitely a change.
