I was just wondering if any of you have ever designed your engagement ring around another ring you wear all the time? I have nerve damage on my middle left finger from an accident with electricity and wear a ring on it to help remind my brain that the finger is there. (sounds bizarre I know!)
My SO and I have been looking at rings lately and I’m a bit concerned about wearing rings on fingers next to each other. The ring I have on at the moment is significant to me as I bought it for myself after leaving a 4yr relationship that wasn’t going anywhere and making big life changes, so I’d prefer not to get another ring, but I guess it would be an option.
This is the ring:

@krayzay87: Would you consider wearing your ering and wedding band on your other hand? I’ve seen some women do it…

Sorry to hear about your accident! I think you should be fine wearing all the rings, as long as the metals of your wedding ring(s) are the same karat and/or material as this ring. Then they won’t damage each other when they rub together. I don’t think it’ll look weird at all, but I know if it were me, I would just visually want the colours to match, that’s about it.

@pengoala: I’m a bit of a traditionalist and like the engagement and wedding rings to be on the left hand. (Ancient Greek philosophy of that finger leading to the heart etc).
@MrsSnowMountain: I think the ring I’m wearing now is 14k white gold and I think my engagement ring will be 18k, but I’m a waiting bee and not sure yet. 😀
