@tangentialbee:  I’m starting advocare (you can google it) in 2 weeks. The diet sounds very similar to advocare (small meals with the whole “caveman diet” process). With advocare, you take supplements along with eating “clean”. It’s a 24 day challenge and a lot of my friends have done it with fantastic results. I only need to lose about 10 pounds, but I have friends who have lost close to 20 on this 24 day challenge.

@tangentialbee:  Yeah, it’s a little pricey…I paid $180. I would have never in a million years paid that much if I hadn’t seen the results first hand.

@tangentialbee:  that would be torture. you dont eat anything for two weeks and then you gain weight. why would anyone choose that?

@tangentialbee:  Hahaha…yes, that’s another downfall to advocare. It’s  A LOT of fresh fruits and veggies, chicken and fish, so a lot of time will be spent grocery shopping. I’m starting April 1 (had to wait until after Easter dinner 🙂 so I’ll post before and after pictures.

I don’t believe in cleanses or diets.  Just healthy clean eating and a regular exercise program. That’s the only way to lose weight and keep it off.  (Clean eating for me: I’m diabetic, so I stay away from sugars, carbs and fats and eat more natural, organic foods)

@jmaze:  Agreed. Cleanses and diets are so unhealthy. I still eat some processed foods and sugar, but I eat so much better now than I used to.

As far as cravings go, you can either suck it up and suffer, or find out what it is that your body is missing (Google “cravings chart”) and eat something else that’s healthy and has what you’re craving (usually a nutrient).

@tangentialbee:  I live in PA, so no farmers market for a few months yet. My SO and I have a huge garden, but we can’t plant until May…so we still have a few months. I regret not canning things last season, as I feel like we wasted a lot because the garden grew like crazy and we couldn’t keep up with it. We did start juicing, which I’m still undecided on…some of the recipes are good and others are just completely awful.
