I’ve seen this on a few blogs, but never IRL. I think it’s a really pretty idea!

I think you could probably get a flat of wheat grass at Whole Foods, or some other health food store. I’ve even seen them at my regular grocery store on occasion too!

Is that the stuff that cats really like? If so, you can get it at a pet store, but you could probably get it online cheaper. I think it is pretty easy to grow, so you could order seeds and grow it yourself.

I was just a wedding this weekend and they did this.  It is was really neat!  I believe they used wheat grass and got it through their florist.  But I will double check for you.

@antsy: Did it for a bride who put marshmallows on sticks next to a fire pit 🙂 super cute.

I ordered through a florist. It was super cheap.

@Crabbabs: I think you’re thinking of catnip?

@antsy:  We did it for my sister’s wedding 3 years ago.  So cute!  We grew wheatgrass in pans and put them out in different containers for the party.  The wheatgrass lifts right out and makes moving it easy.  Bonus is you can juice it all later and get an energy boost!

@antsy: I’m going to do Rye grass centerpieces- Rye is way cheaper and grows easier.  You can buy bulk seed online or flats of wheat grass at whole foods (if you have one around)

I also went to my local nursery and they could order wheat grass flats.  I’m just going to buy the rye grass seed from them though, it’s really cheap and can basically grow in any conditions!

I did it! Our florist got two sheets of wheatgrass and we put our escort cards in them 🙂 I think the wheatgrass is like $10/sheet? It was pretty inexpensive!
