we are looking for ways to cut our spending down, flowers may be a good department to do this in, I am so curious to know if anyone has used floral arrangements, bouquets etc. from grocery stores (ESP. Whole foods)
thanks for helping!!

Not Whole Foods, but we got the white package (17 piece?) from Sam’s Club and they were lovely.

I know someone that used a nice shoprite, and they were some of the nicest wedding flowers I’ve seen. I also know people have used Costco with success.

i didn’t use them but when i was helping a friend, we found it was more cost effective to purchase the arrangements at costco. they were $19.99 each and came in a 6 inch square vase. it was cheaper than buying the vases, the flowers, the fillers, and trying to get them all arranged the night before the wedding. we asked the florist at costco to include her wedding colors: orange, white, and green and listed a few of our favorite flowers. they turned out really nice.

We got a lot of our flowers from Costco and Trader Joes. Worked out great!

I’ve heard that Costco flowers are great!

I too bought my flowers from Sams. I wouldn’t recommend anything else. I absolutely LOVED THEM:

Wow everyone’s flowers are beautiful!
I am going with Safeway after seeing some of their centerpieces and bouquets at a wedding expo and really loved the consultants, I looked through some books of what they offer and was very pleased.
I’ll be talking with a consultant this month, so I’ll let you know about the experience then. =D

We used Wegman’s. They saved us 2/3 over our “real” florists’ quotes, and they were BEAUTIFUL. I could not have been happier with our choice, and I highly recommend this route to save potentially a ton of cash.

I did costco flowers. Bought the flowers and a friend put the bouquets together for me.

I had my bouquet done by whole foods. (I made the brooches into flower stems and had them incorporate them into the bouquet.)

I tried going to Central Market here (it’s kind of like Whole Foods had a baby with Trader Joe’s and IKEA got involved somehow) since the bouquets Fiance brings me from there are always so gorgeous and last forever. The woman we ran into was really rude to myself and my mom, and when I finally got an e-mail from the floral manager, she never e-mailed us back. So. . . .we found a florist who works out of her home, but had a great intuition regarding our venue and the flowers we wanted.
