I had a bad makeup trial last week….I feel your pain. I want a very natural look and the artist used eyeshadow that was WAY too dark and smoky….and the eyeliner was way too thick (I have deep-set eyes, so it’s hard for me to wear a lot of eyeliner)….

I may just DIY because I have lots of experience doing theater makeup; I went to sephora and had a great experience with a MUA there and purchased some of the products she tried on me.

I do my own makeup pretty dramatic I would say for a daily look (always have loved makeup), I did my sisters for her wedding and have done some for a couple of photoshoots. I figured since I always do my own makeup, maybe letting an actual “professional” do it for my big day would make it different and special. WRONG! She used powder foundation only, which in even artificial light looked like I had flour all over my face, cannot imagine it in the daylight. My inspiration was an extremely intense eye, liner on the waterline, etc. While she was doing the eye I was getting all excited, when she showed me my face in the mirror I literally started to cry and had to leave the room, I was so upset I wasted  my money. It looked like someone took a thick black crayon and had just randomly traced it around my eye in circles. Not to mention that what she used to fill in my eyebrows was bright yellow (I’m a very cool-toned blonde, use ashy taupe normally). Ugh. No idea what I’ll do now, probably my own.. I just wanted to make it extra special 🙁
