You should also try to fit in the desert. Joshua Tree is amazing and unlike any other! You can definitely make a day out of it.

rel318:  Last March, my fiance and I went to Disneyland for a week then we drove up to San Francisco for a week! We had an absolute blast!! It was about $5000 for both of us for the whole trip and we would do it again in a heartbeat!! I would definately recommend it for a honeymoon! We are thinking about going to Phoenix for our honeymoon and driving from there to Vegas or Disneyland again. We are Canadian and we love visiting our neighbor country 🙂

MadameX:  Lol! At least you aren’t that far away. I’m in Minnesota! Where it’s 14 below 0 with the windchill, I might add. But I get it, SF is a very, very special and vibrant place. Sonoma is more relaxed. I can’t wait to come back for a visit someday!!

If you go through Big Sur I recommend eating at Nepenthe. The food isn’t amazing but the view is fabulous!

RedHeadKel:  Haha, very true, I’m not too far away! Visiting is very different from living there, but I like the Sonoma County lifestyle as well, and because the cost of living is so much lower, I’m able to enjoy things that I wouldn’t otherwise have achieved by now (owning a home for one!).

rel318:  Following! My fiance and I are planning on doing the same thing. Our wedding is also in July. I’ve only been to San Francisco once so I’m excited to see some more. We’re hoping to fly into San Diego and make our way up, ending in Napa Valley.
