Nobody’s ever said anything to me about mine.
I don’t get when people say “you could have bought a house instead of that”….what makes people think the couple doesn’t already have a house and is financially capable of buying a larger ring?
And on the other side of the coin, smaller rings are just as beautiful…I’ve seen people make comments to ladies such as “it’s cute” or “you can upgrade some day.” So rude!

My Mother-In-Law made a comment about how she was married 20 years before she had a ring as big as mine.
A friend of DH’s asked him how much it cost and how big it was. He responded something like “$800,000”. He’s sarcastic like that.

When I was engaged to my EX husband, He gave me a .33 hearts on fire ideal cut diamond and blue sapphires on the sides and it sparkled like mad crazy. But I got comments like…for example: “oh let me see your ring that everyone is talking about!” I show her, and she then responds “oh…*turns up her nose…umm..hurmm ok, thanks”….and walks off…ouch… I upgraded later to a hearts and arrows ideal .75 and never got any comments at all….but I did not get to wear it for very long.
My DH gave me a 1.16 princess (not ideal cut) and one guy that works at a jewelry store told my DH that very few women will ever have anything that big and then commented that he did not think that I was worth it!!!
So it seems like no matter what you have, you will get rude comments

@JessMorgan777: Did you slap him? I would have walked out honestly. Someone like that does not deserve my business.
