So I think at this point I am pretty much down to two dresses, a maggie sottero and the La Sposa Fanal. However I really think if I went with Fanal I would want to go with the white, but the “Optical White” sounds a little scary and the store made it sound a little too white. However I have tried on some white dresses and I don’t know how the Fanal in Optical White could be more white than those I tried on. Anyway, has anyone ventured to try on the Fanal in Optical White or order it in Optical white? I know the store I have tried Fanal on in (NYC) doesn’t have it in Optical white so I can’t get an idea what it would be like. Let me know, thanks Bees!!!
Also post any pictures you have of your Fanal dress here!

I ended up going with the sister dress Pronovias The White One 411 in ivory, but I tried on the Fanal optical white and it was a bit tooo white for my liking. I am filipino, so I’m a bit tanned. It was just to stark against my skin. I wasn’t allowed to take pictures but here’s one I found on the internet and a few more for comparison:

@bind9449: Thank you so much for your response! And for the links! I have hunted these sites and haven’t had much luck with seeing someone in the optical white. But from the one set of pictures you so showed me I think it looks okay! Where did you try on the Fanal in the optical white? Somewhere in new york by any chance? I have to try the dress on again and have to go to NYC to do it so if you tried it on down there I would love to know where 🙂

nope, not in nyc, but in the washington dc area….and I wasn’t even supposed to try it on! the gals at the salon didn’t have a sample anymore(they had sold it), but someone had ordered it and it had just come in, in optical wite. so they sneakily let me try it on for a few minutes:)
good luck finding it! in reality, it’s just white. i’m sure you’ll love it, in any color!

Honestly optical white just means white without any other tones. It’s beautiful in optical white IMO. But it also depends on whether you look better in cool or warm tones. Cool tones would go better with the optical white.

I know this is SUPER late… but I had the White One 411 (almost identical to the Fanal but with a shorter train) in white. I didn’t have a chance to try it on in white before I purchased it, but I tried on another similar gown in white and decided to go with it over the ivory color. I was really happy with how it turned out! This is me with one of my bridesmaids- not sure why the photographer cut off our heads… but it works for posting on bee 🙂
