I’m not sure how to deal with this. I took a pregnancy test on April 25th that was positive and another one April 27th that was also positive. Last Friday, I started spotting and then Saturday and Sunday I had a little bit more (very little but still bleeding). I wasn’t due to go to the doctor until May 23rd. But I called the doctor this past Monday and they had me come in to do an ultra sound. I figured that I should have been almost 7 weeks due to my last period. All they saw was the gestational sac, nothing else. They said it was possible that I wasn’t as far along as I thought I was. They did blood work and my progesterone level was a little low so they called in a prescription for me. My hCG level was 6193. Then on Wednesday they checked my levels again. I also got a Rhogram shot this morning due to my O negative blood type. I got a voice mail this afternoon from the nurse that my hCG level was only about 7000 and that was constant with a miscarriage, but I’m supposed to go back on Tuesday for another ultra sound and the doctor will evaluate it. I know it didn’t double, but it still went up. I not sure I believe that yet. Have you any of you experienced something like this? I’m trying to keep positive until I see the doctor.

I had a “missed miscarriage” diagnosed back in February. My doctor doesnt see patients until week 10 and I had zero spotting and no indication of anything wrong whatsoever. The ultrasound showed an empty gestational sac. A second ultrasound confirmed the same thing – it’s called an anembryonic pregnancy or blighted ovum. I had no doubts about my dates as we were using OPT and I tracked every BD. My body never did want to commence miscarriage (bleeding) so I had to have medical intervention. I hope your outcome is different.

I’m sorry you’re in this situation. It sounds so confusing and upsetting. I had an early miscarriage a couple of weeks ago. It started with some spotting, progressing into mild bleeding. That day I got a negative HPT after having had 2 positive at home tests and positive lab work at the doctor the week before. At that point I knew something was wrong. I called the doctor who told me there was nothing that could be done and I should just wait it out at home. Within two days it was obvious that it was a full blown miscarriage. I was crushed. But I am already doing much, much better.
If your doctor has taken measures to help you, that means there is at least some hope. I’ll be praying for a good outcome for you. If the worst comes to pass, you will get through it one day at a time.

I went through this exact thing with my daughter when I was 7 weeks pregnant. I went in for my first check up and left crying.
The doctor told me my HCG levels were no where near where they should have been (military hospital so they had my results from the emergency room where I found out I was pregnant) and they were concerned that I was having a tubal pregnancy or that I’d miscarried and they would either way have to do an emergency operation. He gave me a 10% chance that things would be OK.
He made me go in a couple days later for more blood work and basically to see if I needed to be rushed to surgery. My levels boosted up everything looked completely normal and everything was up to par. Now I have a beautiful baby girl.
I don’t know if I’m in that 10% group that beat the odds but what I think is that is was a “false alarm” deal.
Take care of yourself and let us know how everything goes

This happened to me. Got pregnant on the second try last fall. Went in for a first checkup around 7w, on the day after Christmas. Ultrasound dated me at 5w5d and there was no heartbeat. I told my doc that seemed wrong but she said I probably counted incorrectly. (Uh, no.) Went back 5 days later, on NYE. Still no heartbeat. I had to take drugs to force a miscarriage because otherwise there was risk of infection. (I chose not to have a D&C.) It took about 6-7 weeks to get another period. 3 cycles later and we are still TTC. After the next round I am going to see my doc to see if we need to get checked out since I am already 36 and don’t really have time to spare.

Thank you for all your responses. The doctor confirmed on Tuesday that I had a missed miscarriage. I really knew before the doctor said it, just a feeling I had over the weekend. I feel like I have been on an emotional roller coaster in the last couple of weeks. But I realizing now that it just wasn’t meant to be this time.
@ElbieKay I’m also 36 so I understand the time crunch. That’s what scares me the most.
