We have been trying 13 months with no luck. We met with a fertility specialist who got me to have a Hycosy last week (flushing of tubes). It hurt like hell but they said there were no blockages so now i am in the 2ww waiting to see if i get pregnant. I really hope i do but must admit after so much bad luck im not feeling very optimistic. Its been just over a week since the hycosy and i am still waiting for the specialist to call me to discuss the results plus my blood test results she sent me for. So frustrating! She prescribed letrozole but said not to get it til she discusses the results and last thing she mentioned was IUI. I hope the hycosy alone is enough though. I just want to fall naturally 🙁

aquastar : I don’t want to pump you up or inflate your feelings, but I had zero luck getting pregnant before my HSG– and afterwards, got pregnant (twice, actually– one ended in a CP) pretty quickly, within 3 months.
Mine hurt, too. A lot of people reported the pain was just uncomfortable feeling for them, but in my personal experience, it surpassed uncomfortable and was downright painful. So, I was definitely feeling like I made a mistake in doing it. My first cycle post HSG, ovulation was delayed and temps were all over the place– it ended up being a wonky cycle, just FYI. But cycle #2 after HSG is when I got my first BFP.
Good luck!!!

It definitely happens, but I’m not sure its quite as common as the internet leads you to believe based on google searches. I just want to tell that even if it doesn’t, it is ok. I know you want it to happen naturally (who doesn’t) but I just want to tell you that even if you have to move on to reproductive assistance, it will be okay. It’s not the easiest road to navigate (i’m 4 IUIs and 3 IVFs deep into this) but I persist because I know it will all be worth it. Good luck.

aquastar : I had an HSG, no blockages, and still needed IVF to have my daughter. The doctor said it’s possible, but not very common, to have it help with getting pregnant.

I actively tried to get pregnant for 15 cycles before doing an HSG. I didn’t have any blockages, but one tube took a long time for the dye to come out of it, while it immediately gushed out of the other. I ended up getting pregnant 4 cycles later, so not sure if the HSG helped or if it was just when it was meant to be.
