My sister in law got married last weekend and she didn’t have any bridesmaids.  What are you most concerned about not having any?

We just had a Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man, no bridesmaids or groomsmen.  Mind you, we only had a wedding of about 20 people.

Of course people get married all the time without a wedding party.  In fact, when I had a wedding planned I did NOT have any BMs or GMs.  I just didn’t want a wedding party.  I just didn’t see the point and didn’t want anyone to have to do anything extra.

However, probably have to undo the entire wedding party, not just one person.  It would eliminate a ton of hassles I think.

I did…had my parents stand up for me 🙂 I was never one for the whole wedding production thing. Getting remarried this July and will have my life-long male friend and my 16 yr old daughter. Also, I have another guy friend who stood up for his close female friend many years ago.

Oooo ok…I don’t that I’ve ever seen this, but I bet y’all could make it work…the guys could maybe act more as ushers (unless you already have ushers) and they can escort other important people down the aisle (your mom/grandparents)  Or they could also go in in front of you and then split the sides of the aisle they stand on so it’s equal if y’all want them to stand up there with you?    Just some ideas  🙂

On another note, I’m so sorry you’re having such troubles with your sister and bridesmaids!

Its actually becoming very common…at least in my age group and area (low 30’s, Seattle).  We just want less drama.

if you have just men stand up there and no ladies, that will be weird.  Maybe give them a different role and have no one stand up there.

@MrsTimmy:  I think that would be your best choice after reading your posts. They have forgotten who the bride it.

Yes, it can be done. You could have elaborate music, readings done, the groomsmen could escort in important family members or your groom could walk down the aisle with them, and then you come in to the traditional wedding march.

Google it! I’m sure it can be done!!

No bridesmaids here.  Actually, our only guests were our parents.

@MrsTimmy:  I won’t have any bridemaids. I was going to have my sister, but she’s pushed me away. So I’m having my brother stand next to me. Best decision I’ve made so far.

Honestly I thought it was the norm to have a big wedding party until I came across WB. I guess they just do that down here where Im from. If I could go back in time I would change my 6 BMs to just 3. Less of a headache really.
