I don’t have experience yet, but I will. I placed an order for China Blue Fulvias a little over a week ago. I stumbled upon a black pair super-cheap at Ross and was extremely impressed with how comfortable they are (for 3.25″ heels) and how stable I felt wearing them. I wanted a brighter blue, too, though I can be flexible because I’m not trying to match anything. For what it’s worth, I think China Blue is more of a deep sky than a true cobalt.

Anyway, if you have time, you might try ordering a couple regular, returnable, non-Design-Your-Own pairs — one in your desired style and size and one in the China Blue. Nina has a good reputation. But that will ensure the fit and color will work for you.

I used Nina’s design your own thing for my wedding shoes. You can actually order a swatch book to see the color – and the swatches seemed true to color. It’s $10, but it says you can take that price off your order when you decide. I couldn’t figure out how to get the $10 off my next order, but I started a new account on my mom’s e-mail and got 20% off my purchase, so it was fine.

My shoes turned out beautifully and came in a fair amount of time. I suggest getting the swatch book or ordering some returnable shoes in that color – that way you can figure out what size you need too. I ordered some pairs of the style I was going to order on Zappos (in different colors, of course) first so I could decide on the size.

Good luck!

I did the design your own shoes.  I picked the china blue as my sole color and it is a robins egg color.  I am not too fond of it 🙁

I would say invest in the swatch!
