Blueghostgirl:  Haha wouldn’t it though? If only the effect was more graceful willow tree and less small strange shrub! It was a very pretty dress, just not the one for me.

Blueghostgirl:  Unfortunately, I still haven’t found a dress. I live in North Florida where it’s basically Georgia so all the girls want the lacey princess dress or something more appropriate for a beach wedding. I’ll probably wind up having to go to South Florida.

Everytime I try on a ballgown, love them on other people. HATE THEM on me

The consultant got me stuck in a dress, it was her first day so I felt so bad for her but it turned out it was a step into dress not an over-the-head one – she had to get someone to come and help. The second I was sorted I needed it off me, I looked like little bo peep. Even if it had been nice it would never have been the one, too stressful!

Blueghostgirl:  I think for me, it’s just that a ballgown is so not me. Plus they are so heavy and I’ve been drawn to lighter dresses ex: pronovias irune

Blueghostgirl:  I tried on a silk sheath gown with a separate lace overlay and before the lace was even halfway on I was like “OK please get this off me now”.

I haven’t went dress shopping yet but I think I will have this feeling a lot. I HATE trying clothes on, I hate having to be helped by someone, I hate people asking “how does it feel?”. I’ll try to remain calm… LOL this posts are making me laugh

Yes. That dress was a hot mess, and I have no idea why the consultant thought I would like it, considering about all I told her was 1)not strapless and 2) not mermaid (it was both, of course). It was heavy, tight in all the wrong places, and just Not It. There was lace on top of tulle and weird ruching, awful.

I was supposed to wait for the consultant to come back so she could help me out of the dress, but I couldn’t stand being in it for one more minute. My Maid/Matron of Honor helped me struggle out of it right then and there. =P

Yep. My consultant conned me into trying on a full beaded gown (not what I wanted at all!) that looked like the colour of custard… I walked out of the dressing room and my mum & sister laughed because of the disgusted look i had on my face lol… I got up on the pedestal and wanted it off me ASAP!! YUK!

Definitely!

My mum picked the dress. It had a really sparkly bodice and a gorgeous tulle skirt.

It looked lovely but I put it on and it was HUGE. I barely fit through the doorway. I felt utterly ridiculous and just wanted to be out of it.

There was another dress that I loved but once it was on, it was really scratchy and I couldn’t get on with the low back. I felt naked!

zoey0317:  That is so pretty! Do you mind me asking what dress it is?
