Hi ladies I was just wondering if anyone has gotten any weight loss surgery or if anyone knows of a friend who’s done it and what was your experience or your friends experience like? I’m looking to get the sleeve done and i believe it’s when they cut a piece of your stomach off to make it smaller , I have heard mixed things about it and I would like to know about your journey if you have got this procedure done.. What was your weight before the surgery and what was your weight within the first year of surgery , Any advice or help would be really appreciated Thank you!!!!

I had the Duodenal Switch and will NEVER EVER look back. It was the hardest, and best, thing I ever did. I committed to watching what I eat (ensuring I get enough protien and water every day, along with vitamins), and to exercising every day. Over the course of two years, I went from a 26/28 to a 8/10.

vikingbride89 : It’s the platnium standard for WLS. It combines a sleeve stomach with a shortening of the small intestines so that you have significant malaborption.
It’s not for the faint of heart – even with all the research I did ahead of time, it still took me by suprise. However, it’s been life changing.
https://www.dsfacts.com/ has solid information about the procedure.

I have a lap band had it for just about 11 years took me a year to loose the weight and I have jept it off for 10 years!
in total I have lost 177 my weight fluctuates by 5 pounds but jas held in the same pattern for the last 10 years!
love my bandI hear they have moved on from it but I adore my band it is all about customizing I have a 5cc with 1.7 cc in it i got up to 4.8 cc in the beginning i was a little restriction happy lol!
I have no malabsorption issues like some have with the other surgeries but as with anything we can sabotage it by drinking high calorie drinks and such so you have to work with it!
