Hi bees! I’m interested in knowing if anyone has had acupuncture or practices it? I’m looking into it as an alternative for some health issues related to stress and anxiety. I’d love to know what I can expect and your experiences with it. Thanks!

Love it! I have tried 2 places with different techniques for neck pain. At the first place the acupuncturist (who was a MD) stuck the needle right into the muscle spasm, this worked, but was not very relaxing. At the second place the acupuncturist puts the needles at pressure points and it is very relaxing. I don’t meditate, but when I go there I feel like I have been meditating. It is so relaxing and is very good for stress and for pain relief.

i have had it done once, for eczema! i have to say i found it helped a bit, but my skin was really bad at the time so i wasnt expecting miracles:P i can say though that im terrified of needles, but this was completely pain free:)

I haven’t done it, but I know of two experiences that were very positive. A friend of mine had a few medical challenges (not sure of the exact details, but despite being a very active person, or desiring to be, she couldn’t be due to the restrictions of her medical issues–I think she had some skin challenges, but also anautoimmune disorder). Anyway, she went to multiple doctors and said that what ended up working was the acupuncture. It sounds like it was the only thing that made any difference, and now she’s much more physically active again and has been for the past few years since getting it.
The other story is MAYBE a bit weird, but I still think it’s a good testament. 🙂 When I was a kid, our cat got hit by a car, and when taken to the original vet, my mom was told he would have to be put down and there was no way he would survive. So, my mom took him to a homeopathic vet, who gave him acupuncture. And he lived a pretty active life for 5 years after that. 🙂
And beyond those stories, I’ve really heard only good things about it. So I’d say do the research to make sure it’s an option you’re comfortable with, and if it is try it out!

I’ve gotten acupuncutre multiple times for migraines. It’s never worked for me, but i’ve hearn many stories about how it’s helped other people (which is why I’ve tried so much). I think everybody is different, and since it has helped so many people, it couldn’t hurt for you to try!
