I’m feeling very DIY after making a headboard this weekend 🙂 It came out awesome and didn’t take long at all.
Now I am feeling very crafty and want to made curtains for the bedroom. But I don’t actually know how to sew…nor do I own a sewing machine . Have any of you ladies made curtains with that iron on stuff? Any tips?

My mom made ours a few years ago…they’re pretty easy to do, depending on the style. Instead of using metal hooks or those metal hole thingamajigs…she made loops out of the same fabric and sewed them to the top of the curtain. The rod fit through the loops, and voila. An of course, make sure to sewn in at least and inch around the edges so it looks clean.

Sewing your own curtains is Really easy. Another you can do is actually buy some nice sheets (yup, sheets) and take out the seam at the top on the sides (that cute little overlay part) then just put it on the curtain rod. That actually is a no-sew required DIY. Then you could pick up sheets for $5 or so.
