Simplyjess: If you d a search here on WeddingBee, you will see many, many threads about flats.
If you want the height, you could wear wedges which give you more support.

Simplyjess: I wore heels for the ceremony and for when we walked into the reception…that’s it!!! Rest of the time I was in my old leather flip flops that I wear every day. My heels weren’t giving me issues with pain or anything but they kept sinking into the grass for family pics, so my Mom gave my my flip flops. I put the heels back on for the reception entrance but then back to flip flops. I don’t really regret it…it was super comfortable! I’m 5″4 and my husband is 6″2. My dress dragged a little but I didn’t even notice during the wedding and your dress will drag and get dirty at the bottom to some degree no matter what. Wear whatever you want!!

I won’t be wearing heels… I’m wearing cowgirl boots. (Nice ones! No worries) They have a small heel on them, like 2 inches. I really don’t think I’ll regret it. We are having an outside wedding and I worry about walking in heels in the grass. Also, our wedding is country themed. I wear boots all the time so it fits me better than heels!!! I say do what makes you comfortable.
Or, do as sillysillybee did and wear heels for the ceremony and then switch!!

I’m not married yet but I am planning on wearing flats for my wedding. My fiancé is 5’9 and I’m about 5’5 so I don’t want to risk looking taller than him. I also find heels to be uncomfortable. If I don’t end up wearing flats, I will do VERY VERY short wedges. if you wear a long dress, no one can see your shoes anyways. So I would say do what is most comfortable. You will be on your feet all day!

I will 100 percent not be wearing heels or any kind of uncomfortable shoes.

I did not wear heels, my Darling Husband and I are about the same height and I wanted to be comfortable.
These were my flats…

I wore DIY blue flats for my ceremony and first dance. After that I changed into a pair of comfy silver flat sandals that were well broken in so I could dance and move around without hurting my feet. Also, I am 5’4 and my Darling Husband is 6’4. It didn’t look odd at all. I never wear heels so that would have been weird.

I wore flats all day. Worked beautifully.

I wore my favorite pair of sandals. They’re pretty dressy looking so it wasn’t like I was wearing a pair of beach flip flops. I planned to wear heels but when I stood in them for my first fitting, I immediately changed my mind.

My fiance and I are the same height (5’5″), so I am definitely going to be wearing flats. My feet will also be thanking me lol.

I really wanted blue heels, but we had an outside ceremony on a gravel patio, so I went with blue flats instead. As a bonus, my feet were comfy all night. I’m 5’6″, and my husband is 6’2″, and it didn’t look bad at all.

I’m 5’5″ and my husband is 6’2″. I wore 1″ wedges for a while but then kicked those off and went barefoot. He was a lot taller than me, but that’s just real life so nbd. I’d take comfort over high heels any day.

I’m going with flats because my dress isn’t long enough for me to wear heels! I’m 5’8, but I don’t know what they were thinking when they ordered it…if I wear heels, I’ll have a good three inches of dead space between my hem and the floor. No thanks. Although, truthfully, I’m happy to have an excuse to wear flats. I have awful feet and heels (other than some wedges) cause me serious pain. I’ll probably go with a glitzy flip flop and call it a day.
I’m 5’8 and Fiance is 6’4 so he’ll be a lot taller, but oh well!
