My first wedding was at 2 p.m. on a Sunday. I had heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. The food was AMAZING. I specifically remember the artichoke hearts stuffed with goat cheese and the mini beef wellington.
The guests knew that I was not serving a meal at that time. Unfortunately for his stuck up family they stopped and ate a huge lunch beforehand and were too full to eat any of the good stuff. Oh well…that meant more food to be sent up to our room after the reception…

I WANTED to do this, or just a dessert reception….but my fiancee won’t let me lol.

Our wedding is at 7:30 p.m., so we’re having heavy comfort food appetizers. Our caterer did the same thing for one of our friends a couple of months ago, and we had PLENTY to eat and were able to mingle but re-visit the buffet for more food. I’m SO excited for our mac & cheese bites and good ole Memphis BBQ chicken skewers 🙂 We’re also having a few hot dips, mini twice baked potatoes, an antipasto platter, fruit & cheese platter, different varieties of sliders on yeast rolls, and milk shots w/ cookies since FIs fav treat is cookies and milk. I LOVE appetizer receptions 🙂
