I always thought I would get married in the traditional white gown, however, I’m far from traditional and I’ve found a GORGEOUS dress in the most beautiful pale blue and it’s got me spinning! It’s the Alfred Angelo 2308 and the colour is called “Glacier”. It reminds me of Cinderella and I thought if anyone could get away with something like this, it’s me – haha – my engagement ring is a pale blue aquamarine and I love to be different and stand out from the crowd. I’m also a clutz and frankly, don’t often wear white because I usually spill something on it. Not something I want to worry about on my big day! I’ll also be 34 when we get married and we’ve been living together for 5 years so I doubt that I’m fooling anyone in a white gown : P
Here she is:
Have any other bees out there decided to go non-traditional and wear a coloured dress? If so, please share photos, I’d love to see them!

Gorgeous! Love that shade.
I had always thought that I would not want a white dress but surprised myself by getting all gushy over them when going shopping. I prefer more of a dark ivory, but I ended up w white. I am adding color to the skirt, though. These last 2 years or so have been really nice for non-white wanting brides. Lots more options without looking like prom, especially in pastels

That is an AWSESOME blue/glacier gown, I love it! And I don’t even usually like blue.
GO for it!!

I decided to go with a cocktail dress in the end. I always wear bright colors and never white, so for me it felt right to do something nonwhite. I love white dresses on other people though!
This is a slub silk, really beautiful material:

My wardrobe is generally burgundy, navy, and black, I decided to go with burgundy for the wedding, partly because my fiance loves it on me so. (The dress is actually darker than it looks here.)

The dress is GORGEOUS! You should go for it!

Yes, but I’m not sure if it counts because I got Ivory. And REALLY, it looks the same as white in photos. I know because DH wore a solid white shirt….
OP: LOVE the color you chose! Wish I would have done something more like that (i.e. inventive, different, unique, etc)

That dress is STUNNING! And paired with an aquamarine it would just be perfection. I’m going to be mad at you if you don’t get it. : )

I went with champagne if that counts. It has almost a pink undertone to it, I LOVE it! =] But I never really pictured myself in a pure white dress anyway, with my really pale skin.

oh, please get that beautiful blue dress! I am searching for a gray dress myself 🙂

Mine (La Sposa Fanal) is “oyster”, but sometimes looks champagne (like in the pic where I have it on), pale blush (bright sunlight), grey (indoors), or some combination of the above (indoors with some sunlight)

I love that blue!! And I love non-white gowns!! My gown is a honey color and it has stripes so it’s a little different 🙂

Check out Offbeat Bride for inspiration as well… loads of people don’t wear traditional gowns. Everyone’s dresses are really lovely, BTW!

My gown is ivory lace over pale gold….. sort of vintage-y looking. I was dead set on the ivory over ivory (which it also comes in), but the sample I tried on was the gold and everyone fell in love with it. I’m also 31 years old, been with my fiance for 10 years and living together for 5….. i feel like it’s a little more sophisticated than the standard white/ivory gown and I feel great about my decision! I say go for the blue!!!
