I have no intention on being a tradtional bride but I am still debating between beautiful peacock blue and a wonderful rich purple.

I agree, you want to stand out on your wedding day and what better way than with a dress that expresses yourself. I think I’ve spent too much time viewing wedding boards/blogs – after awhile, the dresses and the brides in them, all start to look the same. I love the blue. I say go for it!

It’s ok not to wear traditional white dress. My friend’s dress is black, which I first thought it’s something upset and down but her wedding made me up, not down. A special wedding!

I didn’t want to wear an all white gown–it just seems so…done?  So I ended up with this beautiful Wai Ching gown, purchased secondhand off the classifieds.

It needs some minor alterations but it’s amazing!

I am wearing a non-white dress. As you can see it is a soft sage shimmery type with green and silver beading. Love it!

Love this thread! I’m not to the point of looking, but I’ve always imagined something that isn’t white. My mom once commented that it was okay because there are colors like ivory.  No, I mean like very not white.  I’m thinking more like square in the beige category, maybe headed towards brown.

I look awful in white.  I’m terribly pale, but not the type that can actually look good in white.  Even though we have family who believe it should be worn for its significance, eh, I live with the guy.  Let’s not pretend I’m the innocent sweet little girl they always imagined.

@LibbyLoo:  Let us know if you do end up getting a blue gown – I’d personally love to see the pics Laughing

@secondchances:  I’ve seen the dress that you said you want another thread and I think it would look gorgeous in either colour.

@jjah89:  Thanks! I got it off of a seller on Etsy named “Very Tres Chic”. She sells vintage and vintage inspired clothing. I was able to get a 12 that can be sized down to a 10 because she was only able to get that beading embellishment for a very brief period of time (they all sold in one week. I think she had one dress in each size 6-16. I missed out ont he size 10 by a few hours!) I just received it and it is wonderfully made and just stunning, even without the final alterations!
