Your glacier blue dress is beautiful!

The first time around I wore a white gown.  This time around I went with a gold cocktail dress.  I knew I wasn’t going to wear white again and thought I’d go with ivory but the determining factor was actually whatever dress I found that I liked at a reasonable price.  I found this at Nordstrom Rack for $75.  I can’t wait to wear it again!

Both my FH and I have been married before, so we’re going totally non-traditional and doing this wedding how WE want it! My dress is going to be navy blue, and my daughter (who is our only “attendant”) is wearing navy blue & white. We’re on a tight budget, so choosing a dress that can be worn again was a must in this case.

aw, i’m going to have to be careful not to look at AA’s line that’s available in this color.  i might get dress-regret, lol.

this is mine…also blue, from demetrios.  (the stock photo is in a silvery color, or i would have posted that.)

@LibbyLoo:  your AA vision in blue is stunning!  i’m not sure if all the demetrios lines carry different colors, or in all the fabrics.  this one is taffeta, from the sensualle line.  i think the satin ones also come in light blue.  since taffeta is a directional weave, they used pale gold in the cross-thread so it’s sort of shimmery blue/champagne.  there are some really lovely ones if you like different textures and bling.  i was looking for simple though, and this one is perfect (minus the roses on the hip, which i’ve already removed, lol).  and just for good measure i just re-checked the AA and mia solano websites and they STILL don’t have anything i personally want, lol.

@Luayne:  you might like some of the gowns on this site…

or they could probably make the one you posted for pretty cheap too.  it seems to be well within the confines of their repertoire.

ETA:   sorry, it looks like it’s their site that you pulled the picture from, lol.  i hope you can find someone to make it for you, if you don’t want them.

My dress will be lavender and a soft yellow buttery shade. I am sewing it myself so when it’s all done, I will put up a picture!

@summerSmile:  You look so pretty in your blush gown! It’s definitely your colour.

If I was going for a non-white gown, I would do blush (more towards nude than powder pink), or a very soft dove grey. I love super desaturated, dreamy shades. Ultimately I’m going with a white (ivory) gown because I figure it’s the only time in my life I’ll get to wear a traditional wedding gown (hopefully). I’m also a first-time bride and my mum really wants me to wear white.
