For example, I really feel like I need some more peices on my shoulders/upper body because they will be shown off when I wear my dress! But that’s going to take the money and time. What are your thoughts?
As always these days, please no snark.

How much time do you have before your wedding?
Do you have specific things in mind you’d want to get, or are you just thinking SOMETHING would be better than NOTHING?

I considered getting a piece for my wedding, but it would only be my second tattoo and it takes me forever to decide! I ran out of time. Depending on the tattoos, I think they can look great in a wedding dress.

It’s specific peices I’ve wanted for years. Just never got around to sinking the time and money into them. Now thinking about the photos and everyone being there I would like to have them.
I already have a few.
Added a poll.

I voted “No, thats dumb.” Hahah, sorry! I also could fall under the “I don’t regret it, I’ll get them later” option but I never even considered putting off my wedding for them. I think the only reasons I find legitimate to put off getting married are financial or possibly family health related, depending on the circumstance.

I voted for that last one lol. Snarkypants!
No, really, I’m not going to push my wedding back because of tattoos, but I see why you’d want to. I DO want to go get a cover up done on my upper back, but I can always just cover it with makeup if it comes to it.

I can’t vote in your poll because I didn’t wait or want to wait to get married before getting tattoos, but I don’t hate tattoos either… if these are designs you have been wanting for a long time and you are sure that you want them forever AND you are willing to have a longer engagement in order to get them, why not! Go for it! I love the pictures of brides with elaborate tattoos!

I think it’s more I’m self-concuss about upper arms/etc and every time I’ve had a tattoo I feel great about myself and want to show it off. I know if I had the pieces done that I’ve been planning I would feel that much more beautiful/confident.
I’ll probably have time to before the wedding anyway, I haven’t set a date yet. The thought just occurred to be and was curious what others thought/similar experiences.

I’m not pushing my wedding back (already done that twice) for the purpose of getting more tattoos, but I am purposely getting one before the wedding. I don’t think it’s dumb if it’s gonna make you feel better to have more elaborate tattoos in your pictures. I’m getting one done before to cover up a scar on my back. I would rather have a beautiful tattoo showing in my pictures, than a nasty scar.

I already had my full set of tattoos years before the wedding, and it is now really weird to see pictures of my back before I had them — they’re such a part of me that it’s hard to imagine a time before they existed. So I can imagine having wedding pictures pre-tattoo and wishing I had waited until after!

I have one tattoo so far, and I will be showing it off in my strapless gown on my wedding day.
I love tattoos, to me they are can be beautiful and tell a colorful story on the skin. Sometimes tattoos do tend to clash with the elegance of a wedding dress but there are other girls out there though that get a dress that flatters her tattoos. When that happens, pure photo magic can happen!
Getting a few more tattoos before the wedding would be fine as long as it is at least a month in advance depending on how well your skin accepts the ink. I say do it! If this is what you want and then you should do it! It seems like you are an “alternative” bride and it is great to shake up the typical wedding idea.
Plus you could have a lot of fun with this, you can make you invites look like tattoos, and have crazy colors for your wedding scheme.

I have no tatoos becasue I’m a giant chicken but I think it’s a great idea! They’re a part of you! There should be a “That’s a great/cute/wonderfull idea” voting option

I’m hoping I have the time/finances to finish my half sleeve before my wedding … right now my inner arm is done, so it won’t look unfinished in any way, I just really want to have the outer part of my arm done in time!

I have 2 tattoos that will show on the day of my wedding. One is on my shoulder that I will have covered up. I love the tattoo but it seems a little inappropriate for a wedding and is in rememberance of some friends.
The second is on my wrist and is a cancer awareness ribbon. This one I will show because I survived cancer 15 years ago and I got it on the anniversary of when I was diagnosed. Everyone knows its special to me.
As for getting tattoos to show in my dress I’ve never thought about it and honestly Fiance wouldn’t agree to that. He thinks I have enough as it is (I have 5 but would like more). I like the idea of getting some cool tattoos to show off though.
