I didn’t use Etsy, but I did purchase my dress from JenJen House (which is in China).  I ordered custom sizing and the bust, waist & hip fit perfectly.  I took it to a tailor to have the train removed (it was longer than the photo) and have some fabric from the train added to the bust, since it plunged a bit lower in the cleavage than my taste.

It surpassed my expectations and the fabric quality & stitching is excellent.  I only spent $132 for the dress & veil.  After alterations (another $60), I still spent less than $200 on my dress & veil.  I’m just thrilled with my dress and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Good luck with your dress search!  Hope you find your dream dress Laughing

@sopranokris:  Can you share photos of your dress? I can’t afford the original dress that I want, but I’m considering a purchase from a seller in China.

Here’s a pic of the dress I ordered.  I’m picking up the actual dress from the tailor tomorrow, so I can post some pics of me in the dress soon.

My reception dress was from Ting.  She was amazing to work with!  Quick to answer questions, makes great suggestions, and the craftsmanship was gorgeous!

Here’s a pic of the dress on me (had the train removed and fabric added to the plunging neckline so it wasn’t so va-va-voom cleavage).  Ignore the tags hanging out of the back…LOL Laughing

@Mrs.RGCF:

I have not, but I noticed what lovely dresses this etsy seller makes for less than $800.

I got my dress from Panda and Shamrock. It is a replica of one I tried at the Bridal salon. Retail price $2,100 CAD. Fay from Panda and Shamrock made it for me in about a month. It fits perfectly (no alterations needed. Even the hem is perfect). It cost me $492 CAD including the shipping.

@christinebean:  I’m looking at Fay’s dresses too! Would you mind posting a picture of yours? 🙂

Here’s my Panda and Shamrock dress. This is straight out of the package: it hasn’t been ironed yet.

I ordered the Cloris dress and was really excited but when i tried it on it was at least 4 inches too long and impossible to walk in! I took it to 2 tailors who said it would cost over $500 to alter because of the design. I contacted Fay about this, it took her weeks to respond. She asked for pictures to show it was too long which i sent clearly showing the length as trailing excessively on the floor in front of me, however she wouldnt accept it and told me that they only take refunds if there is a quality issue (not when they make the dress incorrectly apparently). This issue has been going on for weeks and i’ve finally given up and am trying to sell it on ebay. I’m $420 out of pocket. I am so unhappy. I’m a budget bride and now have 4 weeks to try sell this dress and try and buy a new one with whatever i make from the sale. If anyone wants me to send them a picture of the badly made dress before you order so you can see what your getting yourself in for please email me!

IM WARNING YOU, DONT ORDER FROM THIS SELLER IF YOU WANT A DRESS THAT FITS YOU AND YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE TO PAY HUNDREDS TO HAVE IT ALTERED!
