I am continuing my dress search and am having trouble finding anything that I love. I want embellishment, but no lace, and I would like some satin, while still maintaining a boho/ mountain bride vibe. My dress will also need to match the Scandinavian inspired/ braided hair style that I have chosen for the big day.
After failing to find much at my local bridal boutiques (admittedly I haven’t tried very hard and will keep looking haha), I stumbled upon Anomalie. They will work with you to design a completely custom gown.
Have any of you Bees used Anomalie? If so, could you tell me about your experience/ quality of the gown/ how many alterations were required/ etc.?

I just got married last Saturday and had my dress made by Anomalie. It was the BEST decision ever! I didn’t plan on having my dress custom made but ended up taking the plunge after the boutique I originally ordered from kept botching my dress size.
The Anomalie process is so easy and you are involved the ENTIRE time. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted but they ask you about so many details that you probably have not even thought of! That may sound overwhelming, but your stylist will guide you the entire way and offer their expertise too!
It all starts with your initial call and your look book. The look book is similar to a Pinterest board where you can pin all types of images. I pinned dresses where I used the entire dress for inspiration but, I also pinned some photos to show a specific neckline, dress train or detail. The more visuals you provide, the better–especially, if you’re working remotely with your stylist like I was. I also recommend trying on all types of dress sihouettes at bridal stores so that you already know what looks good on you!
The rest of the process is super fun. They’ll send you fabric swatches to choose from and also send you all different photos and clips of your dress throughout the process.
I did need some alterations to create the bustle for my gown since that should be done locally to ensure that it’s the perfect length and look. I also lost quite a bit of weight and that contributed to extra alterations. If your weight doesn’t fluctuate much, you should have minimal alterations (if any) since they base the dress on your exact measurements.
The overall dress and quality was perfect. They were able to incorporate everything I wanted and for much much less than what I would have paid in a traditional boutique. I know when I tried on dresses at the local boutiques, tons of them were pretty but none of them were exactly what I wanted. Seriously…do not miss out on having them be a part of your special day!

I was seriously considering going with them and went dress shopping to figure out what I wanted and actually found something I loved and could get some customization done. I do suggest trying on what your looking for and just being open and trying on lots of styles. I thought I wanted a dress with sleeves and I hated how all of them felt and made me hot. I ended up getting a different style dress. Stuff I would have thought would look good did not and dresses I thought would look horrible looked great. I think they are great if you know a particular dress you want to I also think if they had been around a few years I would have used them in heart beat but they were my backup plan and it’s a great idea I think they are really going to takeoff.

Can I ask (and you can PM if you’d rather be private) how much you spent on your dress, or if you know an average price? I have a certain style in mind but can’t find it anywhere for what I’d like to spend and I’m curious to know if I’d be able to afford an Anomalie dress…

Hi Marlos! I’ll PM you the cost of my dress. If you go to their instagram, they have a little form that you can DM them with some specifications for your dream dress and you can include inspo. pics. They’ll be able to give you a rough estimate off of that.
