The ring I want is one that erstwhile designed. They do sell antique rings but this is the one that has me. I live on the opposit of the country as their store. they do offer a 14 day return service. 14k is a lot of money to spend on a ring that I can’t try on! Wondering if all the small diamonds hold their place securely.
i’m not delicate with my rings, if a diamond is going to fall out, I’m the person it would happen to.

I have never purchased from them, but that is a very unique and interesting ring. The black rhodium adds a nice antique look. I looked at their site and it looks like they have a limited warranty:
Erstwhile offers a free lifetime warranty on all of our jewelry against any manufacturing defects. If you experience any problem with your purchase, you are welcome to setup an appointment or ship it back to us for evaluation. If we deem the problem a manufacturing issue, Erstwhile will repair the item at no expense to the customer. The warranty excludes coverage due to wear and tear and/or negligence subsequent to purchase. Within the first six months of purchase we will replace side or accent diamonds that go missing if we feel that it is a manufacturing defect. After six months of purchase all missing side or accent diamonds will be considered wear and tear and will be at the expense of the customer. Any repairs or work not done by Erstwhile will void our warranty. We stress the importance in choosing jewelry that is appropriate for your lifestyle.
The truth is with any pave/small sidestones there is an increased risk so you need to decide if it will work for your lifestyle, but looking at that ring on their site I don’t see anything particularly alarming or concerning as far as the pave. If it does happen, small stones are not too costly too replace (and it looks like those on head are single cut, so even less costly).
If you are someone who might need a bit extra durability for their rings, I would encourage you to go with a design without pave (even if you have someone design a similar ring absent pave) or even bezeled sidestones as well (just like the main stone is bezeled). I am someone who does encourage people to treat their jewelery with care, so I won’t exactly endorse wearing this particular ring through anything, but if you treat it kindly, and don’t insist on wearing it 24/7, I see no particular reason why it won’t be fine for the rest of your life and then a few more lifetimes, too.
There IS a 14 day return policy, so you can certainly order it, see it in person, and return it if it is not for you.

wow, thank you. That was quite the reply!! good point on side stones and paved diamonds. I’ve had my paved diamond ring for less than 4 months and lost 4 of those tiny diamonds ready. Thankfully the jeweler was a local and replaced. I like the idea of bezel diamonds along the side too.
