Ive been on this site endlessly for the past couple of months, and all of the photos and entires have helped me so much already. But I still can’t decide and was hoping you ladies can help a very excited girl out. My bf and I are looking at rings and I’m pretty set on the sol307 F1 from moissaniteco.com. (the 3 ring ive been set if in the last few months, lol but I think its the keeper)!!!
Boyfriend or Best Friend and I went into a jewlery store and tried on a very similar one that was a 1.5, which I loved. However, I’m a little nervous Now that it might be too flashy for the area that I live (I havent see anyone with 1ct or over). I have been set on getting a moissanite from the start I love everything about them.
I dont mind telling people that its a moissanite, but I have heard some not so very nice stories about peoples reactions. I guess I dont want to have to explain it to every since person as it just seems to daunting. I know I shouldnt care, and for the most part a dont. But I just dont want to feel uncomfortable in my engagement ring because I want to flaunt it everywhere I go and not be worried about what other people might say or ask. My bf and I will be graduating from university soon, and cant afford a 10k which is why I’m assuming people might ask questions.
What im trying to say is in the end has anyone ever regretted going too big??
Ill also include a picture of the 1.5 ct on my size 8 finger, the ring itself was a size 7 so thats why it looks a little snug.
Thank you ladie bees in advance for reading this far=]

I think it looks fine and not too big at all

I always vote bigger! My finger is a size 6 and my moissanite is a 7.5mm cushion and I love the size and how it looks on my finger! Can’t wait to see your new ring 😊 Here’s a picture because I’m still obsessed!

desertgypsy : Your ring is lovely and I think the wedding band makes it look more proportionate, so thank you for posting!
vee1980 : Thank you, you ladies are pumping me up already to go a little bigger =]

I am a size 5.5, and have a 6.5mm. We got engaged one month after graduating college. I’ve never thought it looked too big, and I’ve never had to explain to random people that it is a moissanite. I tell friends and family if it comes up, but nobody has ever questioned my ring or acted rude about it.

I think it will be fine. I’m a 71/2 and I prefer a little bit bigger so I can have more coverage. If someone says something tacky, you kick them in the shin and walk away.

So, I have a size 6 finger and this is my stunt ring. It’s a 1.5 center and I definitely feel like it’s too small. My real ering is still in process and it’s a 2ct. It feels like the prefect size, and my finger is smaller than yours.
I’ve heard plenty of people regret not getting the larger stone but almost never complain the stone is too big. I’d err on the side of larger, if I were you.

misskatherinegrey : Here’s an old pic of my e-ring when it was alone. Now days she is soldered to my wedding band/enhancer 🙂

Also keep in mind that a six prong will make the stone look a bit larger. Keeping in mind everything you’ve said, and the fact that you chose a six-prong setting, I vote 7mm. 🙂

desertgypsy : I die a little every time I see that amazing ring. I think it’s my favorite on the Bee.
misskatherinegrey : I highly recommend getting an $8-10 cz ring in the size you think you want and wearing it around for a while. I wanted a 1-1.5 c stone because I am also cursed with big hands, but I got talked into a 2 c moissanite…because “shrinkage.” It’s not a thing. In fact, my stone feels bigger after having worn it for a while. It’s beautiful, but sometimes I feel judged for having such a giant rock. I’m sticking with what I got, but I would go a size smaller if I had it to do all over again.

misskatherinegrey : I feel like the bigger the better! I have a 10mm stone and my ring is from moissaniteco. Its my perfect size i wouldnt want any bigger or smaller. So go with what you think looks best on your hand! But 7.5 mm is not too flashy don’t worry.

I was having the same debate awhile ago for myself, size 8 and between 1.5 & 1.8 ct equivalent moissy. I didn’t end up ordering anything…yet, but have decided that when I do I’ll be going for the 1.8. I have a 1.25 CZ and wanted a bit bigger after wearing it for a while. I have other smaller carat weight rings but we’ll see what happens in the future 🙂 goodluck!
