I’m reviving this post because I’d like to know if you ever tried it and if so, how did it work??

I think vitamins work much better for hair growth. Shampoos will not do anything. Try biotin.

Prenatal vitamins really cranked my hair and nail growth up.  It took about 6 months for me to really notice the change, but now I notice I have roots like…a WEEK after colouring my hair, and it used to take at least 4 to see them.  Also, I have to file my nails at least every 3 days because they get so long that it bugs me when I’m typing.

My hair has always grown crazy, crazy fast. I used to have to touch up my roots every 2-3 weeks. All of a sudden, though, its come to a screeching halt. Just when I want to grow it back out! Ugh.

I’ve tried biotin a few times but it does horrible things to my skin. I think I’m going to go back on prenatals. They did wonderful things for my hair and nails before.

hi prenatal vitamins made mine grow very fast. I have it almost down to my waist.  I also used vitamins called “hair, skin & nails”.

@HeatherMM:  I agree with trying biotin and prenatals, and i know you didnt ask but I wanted to speak to your yellowness issue — I have dealt with that and HATE it. To me, brass is NOT blonde!!

I have naturally blonde hair (maybe a level 6-7) but I lift and tone it to platinum. I was having the same issue and found that putting a filter on my shower head (you can get them on amazon) to filter our chlorine and minerals (hard water) can really help preventing your blonde from brassing up. Also, using good heat protectants if you blow dry and heat style is key. Shimmer Lights purple shampoo is also a help, but I only use it sparingly because I find it drying. good combo of protien/moisturizing conditioner as needed can offset that though.

I also use Malibu shampoo to remove build up maybe once a month and like Malibu’s solutions for blondes as well — all this can be purchased on Amazon 🙂

I wouldn’t recommend it because it’s essentially adding more proccessing to your hair — but I have been known to throw my own toner on from time to time to pull out any hints of yellow. I love Wella for this, and usually use a 20 or 30 volume developer. For me it only takes a few minutes.
