Here is my dress!! I am so in love with it! I saw it first at a bridal show and knew immediately it was my dress.
Hey There! It looks stunning on you!! Do you know what kind of jewelry and shoes you are going to wear with it?? When is the weeding?
I have bought the same one! It still needs a few fixes as you can see- I lost some weight. I wasn’t very convinced at first, but I am growing to like it. Still I am a bit skeptical. I don’t like how the belly button is marked.
Hi! I am thinking of keeping it simple with jewlery. I’ll probably just wear diamond studs or pearl studs. My wedding is going to be outside, so I’m looking at a pair of satin wedges with T-straps embellished with pearls and crystals. Wedding is in September 🙂
What are you planning for jewlery and shoes? What about a veil?
My consultant gave me a great tip for the belly button! She said to put half a cotton ball in it, and then tape over it. I haven’t tried it yet (haven’t gotten my dress in for my first fitting yet), but she said it works wonders.
@hkbrenner: I am also having a wedding outside!! (If we get good weather, that is!). So I was also looking for wedges! However, elegant wedges are very hard to find here! Most of them are espadrillas or have a wooden bottom! So I got these shoes (pic attached), and if I get tired, I will have extra wedges, bit less elegant, but comfy.
I don’t think I am going to wear a veil. I don’t want to shield the back of the dress. I did nonetheless buy a headpiece from pronovias. https://www.pronovias.com/headpiece-t9-2401 Are you wearing a headpiece?
As for jewelry I bought diamond earing drops to match with the headpiece.
Thanks for that tip!! My mum told me the same thing! When is your first fitting??
@ru4realgurl: Thanks! I think the back of the dress is stunning!
Do you think this dress fits good on pear-shaped women?
Here are a pair that I’m considering, from David’s Bridal actually.
The back is really what makes it for this dress, so I was really concerned about covering it up. The veil I’ve chosen is really sheer, and I feel more bridal in it.
I’m considering a similar headpiece! http://www.belairebridal.com/6574
I’m not sure when my first fitting is. I remember when I was shopping that I knew when the dress needed to be in by (shpped in march for a september wedding), but the alterations aren’t done in house. I need to call an actually figure out when my dress is coming in. I can’t wait to try it on again!!
Oww! I love the headpiece! We are on the right direction!
I have a quick question! Since the dress is not off white, what suit color is your groom wearing?
I do know. I like badgley mischka shoes, but so spendy!
I think my Fiance will be wearing dark grey. I kind of consider the dress offwhite, because it’s not the same as the really white/almost blue white of truly white dresses. I never really worried about my dress color affecting his suit color.
Have you had your wedding yet? You’re date says May 2017!! Can’t wait to see some pictures of you in this beautiful dress. So hard to find pictures of real brides in this dress
Here I am!! From Italy with love…
Hi there! I came across your post as I was also looking for “real life” pics of the Oreste dress! (The model is quite tall and not curvy like I am!) I bought mine 6 months ago and had my first fitting on Saturday…here are some pics. I’m a size UK10 (US6 I think) I have asked the tailor to take it out slightly on the tummy area and also taken the neckline down slightly to just underneath my collarbone. My wedding is in 6 weeks! So I just need to stay in exactly the same shape! lol
Hope these pics help!
You’re gorgeous!! I’ll have my next fitting on 5th July…can’t wait!! Hope to solve the problem of the belly button…hehehe maybe with some shaping…I don’t know which underwear use…let’s see after the fitting the best solution!!
So gorgeous, both of you! I’m so excited to see more Oreste brides!!
For the bellybutton, try the cottonball trick that I talked about above. I’m skeptical about shapewear under the dress because of the lace cutouts down the sides. I wore some seamless undies when I first tried it on, and you could only see them a little bit. My consultant seemed to think that the best thing to wear under the dress, is nothing at all!
What are you girls planning on doing for bust support? I’m thinking a sticky bra, or the chicken cutlets, but I want to see if my seamstress thinks sewing in cups is possible.
I can’t wait to try it on again. I’ve lost weight since I first tried it on (not to mention 2in in my waist) and I’m flatfooted in those pictures, I want to get some with my heels on.
