I tried all sorts of things, from gel and dip for years, to nothing after my nails got ruined. Finally after seeing it all over instagram, I bit the bullet and tried Kiss acrylics that is sold at Target and Ulta of all things, for about $6-7 a package.

I LOVE them. So easy to put on, lasts 7-9 days, and when the come off, it totally just pops off without ruining my nails under it. I recommend them to everyone. They come in colors and designs, or I just usually get the plain and paint them myself.

I know, right!!! I would have NEVER bought these cuz, you know, who uses Target press on nails? I guess the press on nails of our high school years have improved tenfold!

They look great on you – great for everyday wear! Good job! Mine usually last about 7-9 days before they start popping off. I could prob glue them back on at that point, but by then I’m ready for something new anyway.

When I paint mine, I make sure I paint the tips as well, and put a top coat on. I can see the colors wearing a bit at the edge after 5-ish days, but that’s easy to re-tip them. I usually wear bold colors, so if it was lighter I’m sure it wouldn’t be as noticeable.

I am wearing these today, they are colored all the way through and come in diff colors. I don’t love them as much as the acrylics but def like them enough to wear them as an alternative:

What sold me on trying them is that I saw it didn’t really ruin the nails underneath, nor did I have to file the top of the nails before gluing. I don’t really notice any issues with my own nails when they come off, the glue tends to stick to the fake nail, not real one. I just let them breathe a day or two between a new set.

Actually I put a new set on last night, and I must not have done one nail well enough as it lifted today (Really rare one comes off early). I noticed no glue was left on my fingernail, I just put more glue on the fake and popped it back on, easy peasy.

Let us know how the static nails are compared to these!

somedaymrsj :  ok, I tried another type of these nails yesterday, and I had to update you…if you want basic, paintable nails, try these ones! Not shiny at all, and even cheaper than the French ones! Not sure why I didn’t try them before now, but now I will def again! Hope yours are holding up as well as they hold up for me! ๐Ÿ™‚

I get something called Light Concept Nails. I’ve done it since 2002 and I love it. It may look like basic pink & white, but it’s not. It’s actually dental resin and it can be challenging to find someone to do it correctly. It’s not cheap either. If you go to the LCN website you can find a salon who does it. Good luck.

somedaymrsj :  have you tried taking gummy vitamins? My nails were dull and thin for years, started taking gummies and they are hard as a rock and very rarely peel.

I am OBSESSED with Impress nails! They are, like, $7 at Walmart and come in so many styles. Mine last for 2 weeks! Recently, I tried Kiss nails. I wasn’t as impressed by the staying power, but you will only need them for one day. I DEFINITELY suggest the press on nails where you peel and stick over glue. The press ons come off easier in my opinion.

The first photo is after a week of wear.

I’ve tried Static but Marmalade Nails are great too!! I wore them for 10 or 11 days straight and only one popped off (my thumb) but I think that was more user error than anything.
