We’re looking at a venue that allows for bars to be set up, but require that a licensed, insured bartending service be used. Seems like it could actually be a cost effective option if it means we could purchase our own alcohol, but I’m having no luck with finding prices…at 6pm on a Sunday night 🙂 Has anyone used one of these services before? What should I expect to pay? What’s the fine print??
Any info is helpful – thanks ladies!!

It probably varies by location, but $15-$20 is normal around here.

We’re using our catering company to do the bar but we’re supplying all of the beverages. They charged a $150 bar set-up fee (which includes linens, ice, and all the prep work), the price to rent all the glassware, and a labor fee of $25/hr for the bartenders (we have two).

i used to work at a non-profit and we had to hire bartending services for some of our events. i think we usually ended up paying $200-300 total for set-up, 2 bartenders, and clean up. our events were usually 2-4 hours.
